This is an opening for a **Faculty Member at Faculdade IELUSC’s Undergraduate Nursing Program.**
**Responsibilities and Duties**
* Plan and deliver theoretical classes for Pharmacology I to undergraduate Nursing students.
* Develop course content by establishing connections with nursing professional practice—particularly regarding safe medication use, drug administration, and patient care across various clinical contexts.
* Relate pharmacological principles to nurses’ responsibilities and duties in the care process—including preparation, administration, monitoring of therapeutic effects, and identification of adverse reactions.
* Employ diverse and active teaching methodologies to encourage student participation and foster meaningful learning.
* Design and administer assessment tools aligned with the course’s learning objectives.
* Participate in program-level pedagogical meetings and collaborate on academic planning for the curriculum phase in which the course is embedded.
* Maintain up-to-date scientific knowledge in pharmacology and its interface with nursing practice.
* Contribute to the ethical, critical, and responsible training of nursing students.
* Adhere to and uphold the institution’s model of face-to-face instruction, which constitutes a core pedagogical principle of Faculdade IELUSC.
**Course Syllabus for Pharmacology I**
* Introduction to pharmacology. Pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics. Brazilian Common Drug Nomenclature.
* Receptors of the Autonomic Nervous System: sympathetic and parasympathetic.
* Anti\-inflammatory agents, glucocorticoids, analgesics, and anesthetics.
* Introduction to psychopharmacology: antidepressants, anxiolytics, and anticonvulsants.
* Drugs affecting the hormonal system.
**Requirements and Qualifications**
* Degree in health sciences (preferably Nursing, Pharmacy, or related fields).
* Minimum qualification: Master’s degree; Ph.D. preferred.
* Solid knowledge of pharmacology applied to clinical practice.
* Experience in higher education teaching or health-related teaching activities will be considered an advantage.
* Ability to integrate pharmacological knowledge with nursing practice.
* Skill in delivering dynamic, participatory classes oriented toward clinical reasoning development.

**Working Hours:**
* Two weekly 50-minute classes held on Wednesdays from 9:18 PM to 11:00 PM.
