Improving patient quality of life The **speech-language pathologist** in the hospital setting plays an essential yet often underrecognized role with significant impact on patient health, safety, and quality of life. Their scope extends far beyond speech: they are specialists who prevent, diagnose, and treat communication, swallowing, voice, and hearing disorders that may arise or worsen during hospitalization. **Salary**: R$ 4\.251,64 **Workload**: 150 hours (Mon\-Fri) **Modality**: In-person **Responsibilities and Duties** * Conduct speech-language evaluations of patients and, based on results, establish short- and medium-term goals and objectives to support treatment progression and speech-language discharge, ensuring recovery of communicative and functional skills. * Deliver safe, individualized speech-language services aligned with each patient’s specific needs, applying appropriate methods and techniques to ensure effective rehabilitation and improved patient quality of life. * Record all activity data, vital signs, ventilatory parameters (when applicable), and quantitative/qualitative indicators in medical records and department-specific internal documents for reporting by departmental coordination. * Determine speech-language diagnosis and prognosis; prescribe and implement speech-language interventions to ensure effective treatment. * Apply infection prevention and control measures in the hospital environment; prescribe and manage assistive technology products and resources aimed at functionality to optimize treatment/management. * Attend scheduled meetings and events as requested by coordination/management and the board; perform other duties within the professional scope when assigned. * Perform additional duties inherent to the position. **Requirements and Qualifications** * Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology; * Valid professional council registration; * Basic Microsoft Office package; * Specialization in the field is desirable; * Experience in the role is desirable. **Additional Information** * Fuel allowance; * Cafeteria; * SESC benefits; * DayOff. **IMED** is a nonprofit social organization promoting public health.
