**Responsibilities and Duties**
* Develop backend services by translating product requirements into well-crafted technical solutions.
* Participate in product architecture decisions by proposing options and trade-offs—not merely executing predefined specifications.
* Assess impacts, risks, and estimate effort for proposed solutions based on technical investigation prior to commitment.
* Design and implement integrations with third-party APIs using official technical documentation.
* Model relational databases by translating business rules into structured designs (entities, relationships, workflows, and schema evolution) collaboratively with the team.
* Write queries and implement data access with careful attention to performance and transactional consistency.
* Document APIs for consumption by decoupled frontend and other integrators.
* Write automated tests (unit and integration) as part of the development workflow.
* Define quality criteria and acceptance scenarios jointly with the team, fostering a culture of distributed QA.
* Ensure observability of delivered features and investigate production incidents.
* Participate in code reviews with a collaborative mindset—giving and receiving clear, constructive feedback.
* Interact clearly and assertively with Tech Leads, Product Owners, designers, and fellow analysts to refine user stories, question scope when cost/value doesn’t align, and propose simpler alternatives when available.
* Monitor what you’ve deployed to production and close the loop between observed metrics and technical adjustments.
**Requirements and Qualifications** **Education and Languages**
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Systems Analysis and Development, or related fields—or equivalent proven practical experience.
* Technical English.
**Technical Experience**
* 5+ years of backend development experience, including at least 3 years with Node.js and TypeScript in production.
* Solid hands-on experience with NestJS or an equivalent decorator/DI-based framework (e.g., Spring, .NET), with ability to rapidly adapt to NestJS.
* Experience designing and operating REST APIs in production: versioning, authentication (JWT), pagination, error handling, and OpenAPI/Swagger documentation.
* Relational data modeling: ability to translate business rules into a consistent model—defining entities, relationships, cardinalities, appropriate normalization, and schema evolution strategies without breaking production systems.
* Advanced PostgreSQL SQL expertise: writing high-performance queries, analyzing execution plans, correctly applying indexes, managing transactions, and handling concurrency.
* Experience integrating systems via third-party API documentation—including authentication (OAuth, JWT, API keys), retries, idempotency, and failure handling.
* Production usage of Axios or an equivalent HTTP client.
* Familiarity with Redis for caching and auxiliary state management.
* Knowledge of messaging/queues for asynchronous processing (SQS, RabbitMQ, Kafka, BullMQ, or equivalents).
* Proficiency with Git in collaborative workflows: branching, pull requests, code review, and conventional commits.
**Practices and Tools**
* Strong culture of automated testing integrated into development, using Jest and Supertest or equivalents.
* Practical experience understanding and managing fundamental cloud resources in production.
* Input validation and DTO handling using class-validator / class-transformer.
* Familiarity with pragmatic application of DDD, Clean Architecture, or Hexagonal Architecture—knowing when to apply them and when their overhead isn’t justified. Our core product follows a ports/adapters pattern.
* Use of Grafana or equivalents for production observability (structured logs, metrics, alerts).
* Experience with CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps or equivalents.
* Docker usage in local development and application packaging.
* Discerning daily use of AI tools to accelerate delivery while maintaining code quality, security, and accountability.
* Attention to API security: OWASP Top 10, secret management, input validation.
**Profile and Mindset**
* Autonomy to unblock tasks: investigate before asking, but communicate blockers early when support is needed.
* Collaborative mindset: bring options to decisions instead of only executing or criticizing—and accept feedback without friction.
* Proactivity: don’t wait for assignments; propose improvements, identify opportunities, and share insights with the team.
* Comfortable in flat, cross-functional teams: treat PMs, designers, QAs, and developers as peers in decision-making—no implicit technical hierarchy.
* Naturally share knowledge with the team (via pair programming, technical discussions, concise documentation) without needing formal processes.
* Critical stance toward AI-generated code.
* Genuine interest in the product and business domain: seek to understand the "why" before diving into the "how".
* Ownership of deliverables: see problems through to resolution and take responsibility for production-supported components.
* Clear written and verbal communication in Portuguese: document brief decisions, explain trade-offs, and give direct feedback.
**Additional Information** **Nice-to-Haves**
* Prior knowledge of receivables advance, book-entry duplicates, or the assignor risk market.
* Experience with event-driven architectures and resilience patterns (retry, circuit breaker, outbox).
* AWS certification (Developer Associate, Solutions Architect Associate, or higher).
* Postgraduate studies or specialized courses in related areas (software architecture, distributed systems, data engineering, security).
