You will serve as the bridge between the AI's "brain" (developed by the Data team) and the real world. Your role is to build the Capabilities layer, ensuring agents securely access Google Drive, Salesforce, and other tools with high availability and adherence to the MCP protocol. * Hard Skills (Integration Focus) * Third-Party Integration Expertise: Deep experience with OAuth2, webhooks, and complex REST APIs (Google Workspace, Salesforce, Calendly, Slack, etc.). * MCP Server Development (desirable): Proficiency in building servers using the Model Context Protocol to expose tools (Tools) and resources in a standardized way for orchestrators. * Asynchronous Python \& Performance: Advanced use of asyncio and httpx to manage multiple external calls without blocking Gateway execution. Security and Secret Management: Implementation of secure flows to manage end-user tokens (User\-bound auth) in agent environments. * Gateway Architecture (desirable): Experience building or maintaining Agent Gateways to centralize routing, logging, and cost control (token counting/rate limiting). * Your "Toolbelt": * Web Frameworks: FastAPI (mandatory). * MCP SDKs: Familiarity with the Anthropic/MCP specification. * Messaging: Experience with Redis, SQS, or Kafka for handling long-running processes (e.g., agents awaiting API callbacks). * Infrastructure: Docker, Kubernetes, and integration health monitoring (Datadog). * Clear Responsibilities * MCP Host/Server Maintenance: Ensure all external resources are available in the agent's tool catalog. * Functionality Abstraction: Build service layers that transform complex APIs into simple, well-documented functions (JSON Schemas) so the AI isn't overwhelmed. * Service and Infrastructure Ownership (DevOps/SRE for AI): Final accountability for keeping Agent Gateway and Agent services running in production.
