Tech Lead – Authorization

Description

We are seeking a professional to serve as the technical leader of the squad responsible for authorizing credit and debit card (card network) purchase transactions, directly contributing to the evolution of a critical platform within the payment ecosystem. This person will be responsible for supporting the definition and evolution of the distributed service architecture for real-time authorization, ensuring low latency, high availability, resilience, and transactional security. They will also work closely with product and business teams, translating authorization rules, anti-fraud policies, and limits into scalable and high-performance technical solutions. The professional will actively participate in integrations with card networks, HSMs, anti-fraud systems, and external authorizers, as well as handle regulatory requirements, card network mandates, platform maintenance, and continuous product evolution. We seek a hands-on individual with systemic vision, strong technical decision-making ability, and practical experience operating an authorization system in production and high-volume, mission-critical environments. Responsibilities * Technically lead the squad responsible for authorizing credit and debit card (card network) purchase transactions. * Define and evolve the distributed service architecture for real-time authorization. * Translate business rules for authorization, anti-fraud, and limits into secure and high-performance technical solutions. * Ensure code quality, development standards, and best practices through code reviews. * Coordinate integrations with card networks, HSMs, anti-fraud systems, and external authorizers (debit). * Support technical planning, estimation, and prioritization together with the Product Owner and stakeholders. * Address card network mandates. * Drive product enhancements. * Maintain the platform. * Ensure traceability, idempotency, and consistency of financial transactions. * Mitigate risks, manage incidents, and guarantee SLA/SLO for critical systems. * Guide and technically develop squad members. * Ensure adherence to architectural guidelines, security policies, compliance requirements, and regulatory mandates.
