




Job Summary: An Occupational Safety, Health, and Environment (SSMA) professional responsible for identifying, assessing, and controlling risks; developing policies; conducting training; and investigating incidents to support continuous improvement. Key Highlights: 1. Identifies and assesses SSMA risks and defines prevention and control plans. 2. Promotes awareness and training on occupational safety and health. 3. Investigates accidents and incidents and ensures compliance with legal requirements. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Participate in the development of the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Policy. * Identify, assess, and maintain up-to-date control of SSMA risks associated with: the company, activities, travel, drivers, machinery and vehicles—including stakeholders—and define control, reduction, and prevention plans. * Convene meetings with managers and senior leadership to evaluate identified risks and define action plans and priorities, including Strategic Planning and improvements in SSMA performance. * Develop or request training to present identified risks and corresponding control measures to employees, thereby reducing incident and accident risks arising from lack of knowledge and awareness. * Monitor expert assessments and inspections conducted by the Ministry of Labor or related agencies. * Ensure effective implementation and maintenance of processes, as well as improvement in SSMA—Safety, Health, and Environment—results and performance. * Ensure promotion of awareness regarding occupational safety and health hazards and risks—including applicable legal requirements and organizational safety and health objectives—as preventive and control measures against accidents, incidents, and unsafe conditions. * Analyze legal requirements related to safety and health and promote awareness among all employees, subcontractors, and service providers involved regarding their content. * Enforce existing legal requirements defined by the Ministry of Labor, such as NR-17 – Ergonomics (maintaining updated Ergonomic Assessment Reports); NR-33 – Confined Spaces; NR-35 – Work at Heights—including maintaining updated training records. * Develop and disseminate annually, by March, the Annual Risk Activities Report covering the previous year’s operations—including transportation of hazardous products and goods—in accordance with SASSMAQ requirements. * Assess and approve high-risk tasks performed by employees or service providers, such as confined space entry and work at heights. * Guide internal service providers on company policies and procedures related to safety requirements to be observed. * Issue Vehicle Decontamination Certificates following internal procedures and INMETRO Ordinance requirements for registration and maintenance of the Decontaminator Registry. * Investigate accidents, incidents, unsafe acts and conditions, as well as nonconformities, and define necessary corrective and preventive actions to ensure continuous improvement in safety and health, and to eliminate or minimize existing risks within the company. * Report investigation outcomes for accidents and incidents—as well as results of Safety and Health Management—to Senior Leadership and other stakeholders via email, formal or informal meetings. * Plan, develop, monitor, and/or deliver training according to the Training and Development Plan, ensuring awareness and compliance with current legal requirements and organizational needs. * Guide emergency response and control—including drills. * Update and analyze performance indicators established for the Safety and Health area, received from the SSMA Analyst, and forward findings to other managers and Senior Leadership.
