The DBA Specialist serves as the team’s technical reference for data architecture decisions and defines standards and guidelines for the organization. **Responsibilities and Duties** ----------------------------------- * Plan and execute installations, migrations, upgrades, and patching cycles * Define and implement high-availability and disaster recovery strategies (Data Guard, Aurora PostgreSQL failover/read replicas, Replica Sets) * Implement and manage backup, restore, and periodic recovery testing routines * Perform advanced query, index, and configuration parameter tuning to ensure performance and scalability * Define and maintain security policies, access controls, encryption, and auditing * Automate operational tasks and maintenance routines using scripting and orchestration tools * Support development teams in data modeling and best practices for database access * Technically lead resolution of critical incidents and conduct root cause analyses * Evaluate and recommend new technologies, versions, and architectural improvements * Develop technical documentation and operational procedures **Requirements and Qualifications** ------------------------------ * Advanced DBA experience with Oracle Database (19c or later), including RAC, Data Guard, and Oracle Exadata Database Service on Dedicated Infrastructure (ExaDB\-D) * Advanced experience administering Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL and native PostgreSQL (failover, read replicas, partitioning, vacuum tuning) * Experience with MongoDB and Amazon DocumentDB in production environments * Advanced knowledge of AWS cloud environments (RDS, Aurora, DocumentDB) * Expertise in backup, recovery, high-availability, and disaster recovery strategies * Experience with performance tuning and execution plan analysis across multiple database engines * Experience managing patching cycles * Intermediate/advanced Linux administration knowledge * Experience with automation scripting (Shell Script, Python, or similar) * Ability to technically lead resolution of critical incidents and operate under pressure **Behavioral Competencies:** * Analytical profile oriented toward solving complex problems * Strategic view of the data environment, not just operational * Ability to influence technical decisions and defend positions with sound justification * Strong communication skills for interaction with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders * Proactivity in proposing continuous improvements to the environment * Ability to operate under pressure during critical incident scenarios **Nice-to-Haves:** * Oracle certifications (OCA, OCP) or AWS Database Specialty * Experience with monitoring tools (Dynatrace, CloudWatch) * Knowledge of Elasticsearch / Amazon OpenSearch Service * Knowledge of Amazon ElastiCache (Redis/Valkey) * Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) * Familiarity with containers and Kubernetes for troubleshooting applications consuming databases * Experience with Agile methodologies **Additional Information** -------------------------- **WHAT WE OFFER?** * Alelo Food and Alelo Meal benefits; * Mobility benefits for hybrid work model (Public Transport Voucher, Shuttle Reimbursement, Fuel Voucher, and Toll Voucher); * Alelo Culture; * Private Pension Plan; * Profit Sharing Program (PPR); * Bradesco Health and Dental Assistance; * Daycare/Babysitter Allowance; * Zenklub; * Gympass/Wellhub; * TotalPass; * Life Insurance; * Livelo Points rewards, plus discounts on our products; * Education Incentive (postgraduate programs, MBAs, and English courses) after 1 year of employment; * Birthday Day Off for the employee during their birth month and Half-Day Off for their child’s birthday; * Happy Friday (we leave 1 hour earlier every Friday) and Summer Friday (we leave 4 hours earlier every Friday during summer); * On-site massage, manicure, and barber services; * Office coffee and fruits; * Recognition Program; * A creative, challenging, and relaxed work environment, recognized by GPTW 2025\.
