Learn more about our brand at: dex.co **Responsibilities and Duties** These are the main responsibilities and expected experience for a forestry mechanic, whose role is vital to ensuring operational continuity in forestry environments, where rapid and efficient maintenance is essential to operational success. * **Preventive and Corrective Maintenance of Forestry Machinery:** Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on forestry machinery and equipment—including harvester heads, forwarders, feller bunchers, tractors, trucks, and related implements—to ensure machine operational availability. * **Failure Diagnosis:** Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical failures in forestry machinery using manual and electronic diagnostic tools to effectively identify and resolve issues. * **Component Replacement and Restoration:** Replace, adjust, and restore worn or damaged parts and components, ensuring machines operate according to manufacturer specifications. * **Welding and Minor Structural Repairs:** Perform welding repairs on chassis, buckets, and other structural machine components when necessary, as well as minor adjustments and emergency repairs. * **Tool and Material Control:** Monitor the use of tools and materials during daily maintenance activities, ensuring proper condition and correct usage, and requesting replacement of parts and supplies when needed. * **Activity Documentation:** Record all maintenance activities performed, as well as parts and material consumption, guaranteeing traceability of services executed via the company’s maintenance management system (e.g., SAP PM or similar software). * **Workplace Safety:** Strictly adhere to safety regulations and internal procedures during maintenance activities, using all required PPE and ensuring machines are in safe operating condition. * **Fieldwork:** Work directly in forestry operation areas, providing technical support to operational teams and ensuring prompt maintenance response at work fronts. * **Collaboration with Multidisciplinary Teams:** Collaborate with other departments—including engineering, maintenance planning (PCM), and logistics—to improve operational efficiency and reduce downtime. **Requirements and Qualifications** **Education and Basic Requirements:** * **Education:** Completed technical degree in Mechanics, Electromechanics, Mechatronics, or related fields. * **Experience:** Solid experience in **maintenance of forestry machinery or heavy machinery.** * **Driver’s License:** Category D driver’s license; * **Availability:** For occasional travel and work at other group units; **Required Technical Knowledge:** * **Maintenance and Diagnosis:** Strong hands-on experience in preventive and corrective maintenance of diesel engines, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
