Job Summary: The professional will perform corrective and preventive maintenance of tools, as well as fabricate and repair molds, ensuring efficiency and safety of operations. Key Highlights: 1. Corrective and preventive maintenance of tools and molds. 2. Implement and test modifications and improvements to tools. 3. Promote continuous improvement in maintenance processes. * Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on tools and monitor their usage and performance. * Carry out fabrication and repair activities for molds, fixtures, and cutting, bending, drawing, and progressive stamping tools, reviewing received drawings and instructions, verifying specified dimensions, performing calculations, studying required operations/steps and tools to be used, to ensure full operational efficiency. * Set up and operate necessary machines for these tasks, such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, drills, welding equipment, and electrical discharge machining (EDM), among others. * Implement and test modifications and improvements performed on molds, fixtures, and cutting, bending, drawing, and progressive stamping tools, paying attention to safety aspects and following supervision guidance. * Develop continuous improvement initiatives at each stage of mold, fixture, and tool maintenance/construction to enhance performance. * Train assistants and junior toolmakers (methods, knowledge, execution, etc.). * Monitor the production process, analyze tool performance, and make corrections and improvements whenever necessary. * Analyze mold, fixture, and tool drawings to verify compatibility with the manufactured part. * Perform maintenance on molds, fixtures, and tools using all required systemic documentation. * Perform tool maintenance according to priorities established by the scheduler and supervisor. * Perform maintenance on molds, fixtures, and tools following instructions from the scheduler and supervisor. * Analyze new tooling under development and monitor tooling approval. * Maintain the machine, instruments, and tools used, as well as ensure cleanliness and organization of the work area. * Comply with established safety guidelines and regulations for performing assigned tasks. * Know, understand, and practice occupational health and safety rules across all processes, areas, departments, and workplaces. * Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) for assigned tasks and work locations. * Perform related tasks as determined by the immediate manager.
