**Job posting end date:** 05/31/2026
We are seeking a Technical Coordinator to join our Project Engineering team. You will be responsible for coordinating the execution of Electrical Power and Control Systems Projects applied to machinery, equipment, and/or mining systems (Plants), in accordance with the scope defined in the contract and compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and scheduled deadlines. This role must be performed in an organized, disciplined, and methodical manner, with the primary objective of delivering results aligned with Metso’s and its customers’ expectations.
The position reports to the Engineering Manager, primarily based in Sorocaba (SP) or Belo Horizonte (MG), and involves national and international travel as required.
In this role, the professional will have direct contact with other Metso units (in Brazil and abroad), customers, supporting engineering offices, and suppliers of components and subsystems.
The team you will join
You will join a Complex Project Engineering team composed of electrical, instrumentation, and automation engineers and technicians dedicated to developing special projects for complex mining plants, delivering solutions and new projects primarily for the mining sector — designing and applying diverse electrical, automation, and instrumentation equipment to medium- and large-scale bulk material handling equipment and crushing plants worldwide.
We work closely with internal and external teams — project management, mechanical engineering, planning, procurement, logistics, site assembly supervision, and customers.
Our team culture centers on customer focus, great ambition — always, doing what must be done — together, openly and honestly.
Our team is distributed across Sorocaba (SP), Belo Horizonte (MG), São Paulo (SP), and Düsseldorf (Germany).
What you will do
Coordinate and ensure efficient technical integration among disciplines such as Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, and other involved areas. Perform strategic resource management, ensure adherence to schedules and targets, and promote deliverable quality, aligning technical outcomes with business objectives.
Coordinate the development of Basic and Detailed Designs for electrical power and control systems, including Single-Line Diagrams, Power Demand Calculations, Electrical Room Layouts, Load and Consumer Lists, Typical Functional Diagrams, Document Lists, Cable Sizing Calculations, Control System Topology, Engineering Flowcharts, and Instrument Lists. Define high-, medium-, and low-voltage power systems, generating general single-line diagrams based on demand calculations.
Coordinate the development of technical specifications for procurement of electrical power equipment, such as Medium-Voltage Distribution Panels up to 69 kV, Medium-Voltage MCCs, Oil- or Dry-Type Power Transformers, Frequency Inverters (including AFE and Multi-Pulse), Low-Voltage MCCs, Battery Chargers, DC Systems, Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), Fire Detection and Suppression Systems, Capacitor Banks, Electric Motors, PLC/DCS Panels, Remote Panels, Telecom Racks / IT Racks, etc. Develop technical specifications for control systems, safety, process, and analytical instrumentation; perform technical reconciliations; and act as the project’s technical supervisor, ensuring all technical requirements at the lowest level are fully met.
Coordinate procurement processes for electrical, automation, and instrumentation equipment, conducting technical evaluations and assessments, supporting the procurement team in technical discussions during equipment quotation stages, and participating in closing meetings.
Coordinate effective client interface by providing clarifications, reviewing client comments, addressing comment resolution requests in alignment with the technical proposal, and negotiating with the client any discrepancies in understanding of the solution.
Coordinate and, where applicable, participate in field activities such as engineering support for commissioning and start-up of sub-supplier electrical equipment.
Support the Proposal Department in defining solutions, components, engineering effort hour estimates, and references for electrical and automation systems.
Participate in meetings with clients, suppliers, and other Metso units to resolve issues related to the project you are working on, providing clarifications and addressing technical topics.
Demonstrate, comply with, and guarantee all company HSE and Quality policies, procedures, and practices, and disseminate them across all areas of involvement.
Travel for training and/or client and supplier interfaces, field surveys, assembly supervision support, and testing during equipment delivery phases.
Who you are
