Commitment, responsibility, and teamwork Port support company located on Ilha da Conceição is hiring a Deckhand Assistant. **Job Description:** The Deckhand Assistant is responsible for assisting with deck operational activities aboard vessels, contributing to safety, maintenance, and maneuver support, in compliance with Maritime Authority regulations and the company’s internal procedures. **Main Responsibilities:** * Assist in vessel berthing and unberthing maneuvers; * Support mooring, unmooring, and anchoring operations; * Perform cleaning, preservation, and basic maintenance of the deck, ropes, fenders, and equipment; * Assist in vessel surveillance to ensure onboard safety; * Comply with safety, environmental, and operational procedures; * Support the crew in general activities related to vessel routine. **Requirements:** * Valid Certificate of Competency (Deckhand Assistant – DAC); * Mandatory certificates up to date (e.g., EBCP, TBS\-1, and others required by NORMAM); * Prior experience in this role is preferred; * Availability to work on rotating shifts; * Commitment, responsibility, and teamwork; * Residence in the vicinity of Niterói and São Gonçalo.
