### **Responsibilities:** * Technical Execution with Quality and Depth: Design, implement, and maintain high-performance and secure backend services in Ruby on Rails, adhering to principles of readability, scalability, and compliance with team-defined technical standards. * Responsibility for Maintenance and Stability: Support applications by fixing bugs, optimizing queries, and implementing continuous improvements to performance, security, and reliability. * Collaboration on Technical and Product Roadmaps: Contribute to technical planning alongside Product Managers, Designers, and Tech Leads—helping estimate workloads, identify risks, and anticipate challenges in delivering new features. * Technical Influence and Dissemination of Best Practices: Actively participate in code reviews, propose architectural improvements, promote development standards and best practices, and elevate the team’s collective technical level. * Autonomy and Support for Technical Decision-Making: Assume responsibility for critical system components, suggest solutions aligned with the domain’s architecture, and support the team in analyzing technical trade-offs. * Participation in Technical Discovery and Architecture Evolution: Contribute to the evolution of microservice architecture and integrations, ensuring solutions are sustainable, observable, and compatible with product growth. ### **Mandatory Requirements:** * Proven experience as a Senior Backend Engineer in Ruby on Rails, building, evolving, and maintaining modern web applications in production. * Proficiency in Ruby and Ruby on Rails—including Active Record, migrations, background jobs, and ActionCable. * Proficiency in PostgreSQL and Redis (query optimization, indexing, and caching). * Solid experience with RSpec, including mocks, stubs, and test coverage. * Knowledge of system design, modularization, REST or GraphQL APIs, microservices, and messaging (Pub/Sub, Sidekiq). * Experience with GCP (Pub/Sub, Cloud Run, Cloud SQL) and monitoring tools (Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus). * Mastery of SOLID principles, design patterns, code review, refactoring, and version control. * Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc.) and error monitoring (Sentry, Rollbar, Datadog). * Experience in agile teams (Kanban/Scrum), collaborating with PMs, designers, and other backend engineers. * Hands-on involvement in complex digital product projects, with emphasis on scalability, performance, and technical quality. ### **Desirable Requirements:** * Experience with React or another frontend technology for full-stack collaboration. * Experience with containers (Docker/Kubernetes) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation). * Knowledge of event-driven architectures and resilience patterns (retry, circuit breaker, exponential backoff). ### **Behavioral Skills:** * Genuine passion for technology: motivated to solve complex problems and deliver real value. * Technical ownership: understands the impact of one’s own decisions and actively contributes to stack evolution. * Responsiveness to feedback: transforms input into opportunities for continuous improvement. * Autonomy with critical thinking: questions assumptions, proposes alternatives, and seeks to understand the “why” behind solutions. * Collaboration and empathy: works respectfully and in partnership within multidisciplinary teams. * Constant curiosity: follows trends, experiments with new technologies, and shares learnings. * Commitment to excellence: demonstrates attention to detail and care for the quality of delivered code. **We strive to provide our team with a welcoming, dynamic, and collaborative environment.
