Address field problems while maintaining continuity of the plan **We are seeking a Construction Coordinator / Field Engineer to execute and manage sanitation construction projects, ensuring productivity, quality, safety, cost control, and schedule adherence, with strong on-site presence and interface with clients, inspectors, and in-house/contracted teams.** **Responsibilities and Duties** * Coordinate and monitor the daily execution of construction fronts (sewer collection networks, manholes, service connections, force mains / LNE, pumping stations / EEEB, backfilling, compaction, and reinstatement). * Ensure compliance with as-built drawings, specifications, technical standards, and contractual quality requirements. * Plan and replan activities based on productivity, interferences, weather conditions, site releases, and constraints. * Lead field teams (foremen, supervisors, surveyors, safety officers, quality inspectors, equipment operators, and assistants), promoting operational discipline and focus on results. * Manage subcontractors and suppliers, verifying scope, measurement, quality, and deliverables. * Control and optimize the use of materials, equipment, and fleet (excavators, backhoes, trucks, compactors, pumps, etc.), avoiding idleness and waste. * Ensure compliance with SSMA requirements: JSA/PT, safety talks (DDS), signage, shoring, PPEs/collective protective measures, excavations, and hazardous areas. * Monitor costs, budget, and variances, proposing corrective actions and productivity improvements. * Support measurements and documentation: Daily Reports (RDO), site diaries, reports, photos, as-builts, checklists, and evidence for claims/extra services where applicable. * Facilitate communication with clients/inspectors/design teams, reporting progress, constraints, and decision-making needs. * Address field problems (interferences, existing utilities, access issues, traffic, permits, reinstatement, rain), maintaining continuity of the plan. **Requirements and Qualifications** * Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or related fields) and active CREA registration (preferred). * Proven experience in sanitation construction projects (sewer networks, manholes, force mains / LNE, pumping stations, excavation, pipe laying, compaction, and reinstatement). * Experience managing field teams and handling demanding on-site routines. * Knowledge of productivity metrics, planning tools (MS Project/Excel), and cost controls. * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, perform quantity take-offs, and apply best execution practices. * Availability for full-time on-site work and regional travel.
