Contain and extinguish small fire outbreaks using specialized firefighting equipment available in operational vehicles or the Water Tanker Truck. Inspect construction works and services occurring within the right-of-way using operational vehicles, and the Construction and Services Manual available in patrol units. Monitor oversized cargo transports by driving the operational vehicle and reviewing documentation related to such cargo. Inspect the company’s right-of-way by patrolling a designated highway stretch, identifying ongoing constructions or general services, billboards or outdoor signage installed therein, requesting presentation of the company-issued authorization for execution of such services and/or construction, releasing them if no irregularities are found, or requesting removal or demolition from the responsible party; additionally, notifying the State or Federal Highway Police or the Supervisor via the OCC, as needed, to obtain support for process completion. Conduct or assist in operations involving pedestrians in hazardous positions, fallen signage from ongoing highway construction, removal of fallen highway signage from risk zones, initial fire suppression, removal of objects from the roadway (e.g., debris, wood, bumper fragments, cardboard), and removal of live or deceased animals from the roadway—taking all appropriate actions. Verify whether signage for highway construction, improvement, and maintenance complies with company standards, referencing previously received sketches; halting work if irregularities or operational risks are identified until issues are resolved or new instructions are received from the OCC.
