




Job Summary: Work on editing educational materials for Basic Education, ensuring material quality and alignment with current curricula, with a focus on transforming public education. Join us in this mission to improve public education and collectively build a fairer, more innovative, and sustainable future! **Responsibilities and Duties** * Edit educational materials for Basic Education, from original manuscripts to final proofs, autonomously and with required technical expertise; * Ensure materials contain accurate and up-to-date concepts and data; age-appropriateness; and alignment with current curricula; * Ensure teacher materials include appropriate and necessary pedagogical guidance so teachers understand the content and effectively implement it with their students; * Develop or guide the development of briefing documents for all book components: photos, maps, illustrations, text licensing, etc.; * Select and approve images, ensuring quality and adherence to the collection’s budget; * Contract external suppliers necessary for book production; * Monitor execution of tasks performed by external suppliers; * Serve as the focal point for the subject area/educational segment; * Ensure adherence to schedules and timely delivery (both your own and those of external suppliers); * Develop supplementary content for the book, when required; * Review cover proofs and graphic design; * Support assistant and junior editors in specific tasks; * Ensure effective and clear communication regarding productions under your responsibility with all involved departments; * Participate in discussions about editorial planning and production needs, as well as pedagogical meetings, training sessions, and departmental and company-wide meetings; **Requirements and Qualifications** Competencies * Adaptability to change; * Collaboration; * Proactive problem-solving; * Organization; * Clear and objective communication; * Broad cultural knowledge. Academic Background * Bachelor’s degree and/or teaching license in: Mathematics. Previous Experience * Prior experience in the publishing industry (preferably with materials targeted at public schools); * Prior teaching experience is a plus.
