Development of safety culture programs and risk management **Job Description** **This position requires on-site work in Monte Alto \- SP.** **Who will you work with?** You will join the EHS department of a plant with approximately 500 employees located in Monte Alto/SP. You will directly manage 3 Occupational Safety Technicians and 1 intern, working closely and collaboratively with other EHS professionals, including the Occupational Nurse. You will report directly to the Regional EHS Manager and provide support to the plant’s Operations Directorate. Given that EHS management is global, you will also have indirect reporting to the Global EHS Director, ensuring alignment with corporate guidelines and standards. **How will you make a difference?** You will play both strategic and operational roles in managing Health, Safety, and Environment (EHS) at the plant, ensuring legal compliance, mitigation of critical risks, and promotion of a strong safety culture. This role is responsible for managing the EHS team, developing leadership capabilities, conducting audits, investigating incidents, managing corporate programs, and interfacing with external agencies, contractors, and local and global leadership. It also includes environmental management, implementation of machine and equipment safeguards (NR\-12\), ensuring alignment with global directives and engagement across executive and operational environments. **What do we want to know about you?** * Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, with postgraduate specialization in Occupational Safety Engineering. A bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering is considered a plus. * Experience: Prior experience in a metallurgical industrial environment. * Team Leadership: Proven experience managing EHS teams in industrial plants classified as Risk Level 3 or 4. * Professional Registration: Active registration with CREA. * Language: Advanced English proficiency for conversation, with ability to frequently interact with global teams. * People Management: Experience managing teams, with documented success in team engagement and development. * Safety Culture: Experience implementing programs focused on building safety culture, especially targeting leadership. * Driver’s License: Category B driver’s license, with fitness to operate automobiles. **What will your day-to-day look like?** * Manage the EHS team, ensuring technical alignment, engagement, and team development. * Participate in expert assessments and collaborate integrally in negotiation processes with internal and external stakeholders. * Plan and execute EHS audits, including follow-up and assurance of implementation of resulting actions. * Manage plant-level risks by identifying critical risks and driving implementation of effective controls. * Map legal requirements and define actions to ensure compliance with municipal, state, and federal regulations related to Health, Safety, and Environment. * Analyze and investigate incidents, focusing on root causes and preventive actions. * Manage and develop EHS programs targeted at leadership to strengthen safety culture. * Manage the 7S program, promoting organization, efficiency, and workplace safety. * Manage mandatory and applicable training for employees. * Manage contracted companies, ensuring compliance with EHS requirements. * Manage environmental matters, including waste, effluent control, and atmospheric emissions, as well as supporting sustainability projects. * Implement machine and equipment safeguards in compliance with NR\-12\. **Benefits:** At Wabtec, people come first.
