**About the Area:**
Preparing biological specimens (slides) for Immunohistochemistry (IHC) and Hybridization testing analysis, using manual, semi-automated, and automated techniques.
Performing and analyzing internal quality control, applying work rules, procedural standards, and specific equipment and instruments for each type of procedure.
Supporting the execution of tests in the technical area, providing comprehensive support for related activities using proprietary systems and pre-established workflows.
Main Responsibilities:
* Perform reactions on slides for Immunohistochemistry (IHC) and Hybridization testing, ensuring procedures follow pre-established protocols.
* Perform manual Immunohistochemistry (IHC) procedures according to predefined protocols.
* Replenish Roche equipment with reagents at appropriate dilutions.
* Program/test protocols on equipment.
* Load equipment with samples (slides).
* Prioritize urgent cases to integrate into routine workflow.
* Perform slide washing and mounting, ensuring quality.
* Validate quality control on all slides using a microscope and request repeats when necessary.
* Verify test completeness, update their status in the system, and organize delivery to the next department.
* Validate new antibodies per package insert.
* Dilute reagents and antibodies per validation protocol.
* Select positive control materials and perform validation in the system.
* Validate positive control tests and confirm suitability for use.
* Monitor corrective and preventive maintenance to ensure proper equipment operation, requesting service as needed.
* Perform equipment decontamination per manufacturer instructions.
* Register Molecular Biology tests in MySevi and arrange shipment of required materials.
* Receive slides from partner laboratories and schedule necessary reactions under special procedures.
* Manage reagents per operational needs and technical standards, ensuring test quality and timely result delivery.
* Monitor inventory and notify immediate supervisor to request work materials such as kits, supplies, and reagents.
* Signal procurement needs per scheduling with suppliers and warehouse.
* Ensure materials are used within expiry dates and prevent shortages that could delay testing.
* Maintain responsibility for materials and equipment used in daily tasks to extend their useful life.
* Store samples per immediate leadership guidance and/or protocol/instruction to ensure stability.
* Guarantee process execution in accordance with Quality Management System principles.
* Monitor department dashboard, tasks, reports, deadlines, and test requests via system (Diagsystem).
* Monitor Reagent-Grade Water and request equipment maintenance as needed.
* Be responsible for workplace and equipment cleaning and organization.
* Train and support colleagues covering vacations, leaves, absences, or new hires, as requested by immediate supervisor.
* Critically assess internal processes and propose improvement actions.
* Complete daily area record spreadsheets.
* Dispose of chemical waste, sharps, and use spill kits per defined procedures.
* Request assistance from pathologists and other teams as needed.
* Resolve issues related to tests.
* Keep immediate supervisor informed of any issue that may compromise sample processing performance or quality.
* Perform related tasks or tasks of equivalent difficulty upon request from immediate supervisor.
* Execute work observing Occupational Safety aspects, properly using PPE and behavioral standards, complying with applicable legislation and internal policies.
* Support immediate supervisor on matters inherent to the area, presenting and discussing solutions to problems and irregularities to support decision-making and continuous process improvement.
**We seek someone who demonstrates:**
Mandatory:
* Completed Technical Course in Laboratory, Biodiagnosis, Clinical Analysis, or Clinical Pathology and/or completed or ongoing Bachelor’s degree in Biology or Biomedicine.
* Basic Microsoft Office package.
Desirable:
* Experience in Immunohistochemistry (preferred), Molecular Biology, Anatomic Pathology, and Clinical Analysis.

* Work Model: On-site;
* Workplace Location: Near Oscar Freire metro station;
* Weekly Hours: 200 hours;
* Schedule: Monday to Friday;
* Working Hours: 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM
