Supervision of junior-level boilermakers **Description:** Perform manufacturing and repair work on machinery and equipment, boilers, reservoirs, tanks, and general piping systems; layout, cut, and assemble ferrous and non-ferrous metal sheets to fabricate various components or structural frames; conduct maintenance and refurbishment of company facilities and equipment in general, adhering to technical drawings and within the department’s financial plan; supervise junior-level boilermakers; ensure quality, safety, and environmental protection. **Responsibilities:** * Execute heavy boiler-making services with a high degree of precision, involving fabrication, assembly, and adjustments. * Interpret engineering drawings, sketches, and technical specifications, ensuring compliance with dimensional and tolerance requirements. * Layout drawings onto metal sheets according to plans to be cut for fabricating various components or structural frames, based on sketches, drafts, drawings, or instructions from the immediate supervisor. * Cut metal sheets to required shapes and dimensions using mechanical shears, cutting torches, and other conventional equipment. * Prepare parts for welding by bevelling, cleaning, removing grease and oxides, and correctly positioning them to ensure perfect welds. * Perform basic mechanical operations (drilling, sawing, filing, grinding), as needed, to supplement maintenance and assembly tasks on company machinery and equipment. * Join different parts using appropriate tools, machines, and fixtures, per sketches, drawings, or instructions from the immediate supervisor. * Remove burrs from edges using files or other tools to finish assemblies. * Install pipes, valves, fittings, and other mechanical accessories using hand tools and specialized utensils to complete component assembly. * Repair tanks, reservoirs, piping systems, metal structures, mechanical drive assemblies, gear reducers, pumps, and other accessories using hand tools and specialized utensils to complete part assembly. * Refurbish general equipment by removing defective parts using cutting torches or other tools, replacing them with similar parts, and joining them using conventional mechanical joining methods. * Organize and control raw material usage to maximize material utilization efficiency. * Assist, when requested, in any repair or maintenance tasks on the production line, at the discretion of the immediate supervisor. * Maintain care of equipment, tools, and materials used. * Complete necessary documentation by filling out standard control forms or entering data directly into the company’s integrated system, recording performed services, repairs made, replaced or fabricated parts, and accurately noting all required information. * Clean machinery, equipment, tools, measuring instruments, and the work area to maintain standards of organization, cleanliness, and orderliness in the department. * Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for task execution.
