This professional negotiates with suppliers, monitors inventory levels, and coordinates procurement activities to guarantee continuous product availability while adhering to budgetary constraints and agreed delivery timelines. Responsibilities and Duties · Procure products for resale in supermarket stores—including food, beverages, cleaning supplies, and household essentials—always aligning purchase decisions with sales demand and the company’s commercial strategies. · Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and commercial conditions with suppliers, consistently aiming to optimize cost\-effectiveness and secure the best possible terms for the company. · Monitor inventory levels and product turnover rates, placing replenishment orders as needed to prevent both stockouts and overstocking of slow-moving items. · Study sales trends and customer consumption patterns to adjust procurement plans and ensure high-demand products remain continuously available on shelves. · Organize and manage product categories, ensuring the store offers a balanced and appealing assortment aligned with consumer needs and marketing strategies. · Anticipate seasonal procurement needs—such as products for festive occasions (Christmas, Easter, etc.), promotions, and special campaigns—to guarantee adequate availability of these items. · Oversee product receipt, verifying compliance with required quality standards and adherence to agreed delivery timelines with suppliers. · Manage the procurement budget, analyzing and controlling acquisition costs, and continually seeking alternatives to reduce expenses without compromising product quality. · Monitor competitors and market changes to identify new product or supplier opportunities that can enhance the supermarket’s product assortment. · Ensure all procurement-related documentation (purchase orders, quotations, contracts, invoices) is properly organized and complies with internal company policies and tax regulations. · Maintain, preserve, clean, and safeguard equipment, instruments, tools, and workspaces specific to the role. · Perform duties associated with the position in alignment with the organization’s Mission, Vision, and Values. · Comply with the company’s occupational safety regulations, using required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and collective protective equipment, ensuring personal physical integrity and that of all colleagues.
