A loss prevention officer works to minimize financial losses in an establishment by ensuring site security and preventing thefts, robberies, and waste. Their duties include monitoring the movement of people and vehicles, inspecting the functionality of cameras and alarms, conducting patrols, approaching suspicious individuals, and ensuring compliance with internal security procedures. Key Responsibilities
* **Theft and robbery prevention:** Actively monitors the sales environment, observes suspicious behaviors, and performs preventive interventions when necessary.
* **Access control:** Monitors customer and vehicle entry and exit, controlling access to the establishment.
* **Physical security:** Ensures proper operation of security systems such as cameras, fire hydrants, and sensors, and may respond to emergencies such as fires or accidents.
* **Compliance and procedures:** Inspects goods receipt, verifies compliance of invoices, and monitors inventory to prevent losses due to expiration or improper handling.
* **Team guidance:** Guides other employees on security procedures and how to respond in risky situations, helping foster a safe working environment.
