Refrigerantes Convenção was founded in Itu by Primo Schincariol in the 1930s. The brand’s origin was inspired by the Republican Convention of Itu held in 1873. In 1951, the company was acquired by Olavo Valente de Almeida and Victorio Guitti, along with their two sons, Dercio Luiz and Geraldo. In 1978, Mr. Geraldo’s children, Carlos and Francisca, began their careers at the company and remain with it to this day. In pursuit of new opportunities, Refrigerantes Convenção inaugurated its manufacturing unit in Rio de Janeiro in 1983. Three years later, with expanded distribution and emerging business opportunities, the plant was relocated from Itu to Caieiras—20 km from São Paulo’s capital city. In the 1990s, Refrigerantes Convenção successfully entered new markets, including exports to Latin American countries, African nations, Switzerland, and Japan. Today, it is a beverage manufacturer employing approximately 1,200 people across its two facilities, boasting an extensive portfolio that includes syrups (blackcurrant, açaí, grape, and guaraná), traditional glass and PET bottled soft drinks in flavors such as guaraná, zero-sugar guaraná, frutaína, orange, grape, lemon, Vitt's, pineapple, and cola; carbonated beverages (orange with acerola, guaraná, guaraná with açaí, passion fruit, and grape); Serra dos Cristais mineral water; Guitt's, Zebu, and Ravache beers; Guitt's and Ravache draft beers; MSX and MSX zero-sugar energy drinks; and specialty beverages such as Chinotto—a traditional Italian beverage made from botanical extracts—and HCON (a lightly carbonated beverage with a hint of lemon). Refrigerantes Convenção has established itself in the beverage market as one of the leading companies, offering a diverse product range designed to celebrate various occasions—consistently meeting consumers’ needs and habits throughout its 70-year history, supported by technology, quality, and respect. Refrigerantes Convenção—the family soft drink of Brazil since 1951.
