Preventive maintenance of equipment and control of chemical processes **Job Description** Operate the water and wastewater treatment plant in accordance with established procedures, prioritizing work quality and safety standards. Responsible for analysis and reporting of data to monitor operational performance. **Responsibilities and Duties:** * Analyze new problems and propose solutions through technical research and lessons learned from previous incidents, while anticipating problems, simulating scenarios, and predicting the impact of problem resolution across the entire process to propose alternatives * for crisis prevention; * Perform tasks receiving instructions only for resolving complex problems; * Operate water and wastewater treatment plants of small, medium, large scale and complexity, including sediment dredging. * Operate wastewater lift stations, ensuring proper functionality and requesting maintenance when necessary. * Perform maintenance on operated equipment, conducting periodic inspections of booster pumps (packing, belts, fluid levels, valve adjustments) in the process. * Prepare solutions for dosing and application in water and wastewater treatment systems. * Operate vehicles used for activities efficiently and safely; * Read flow meters to monitor water/wastewater inflow for treatment and discharge. * Prepare chemicals used in treatment, aiming to formulate solutions and dosages for treatments. * Separate/Segregate waste for proper disposal according to company guidelines on selective collection; * Ensure custody, preservation, and maintenance of equipment used at work; * Complete equipment and material check\-lists; * Conduct analyses defined in the analytical plan; * Record analysis results in systems; * Collect water and wastewater samples; * Perform general laboratory support activities—physical, chemical, and bacteriological—for water and wastewater testing, research, or assisting in tests to enable such analyses per established standards; * Promote conservation and 5S activities in assigned areas, such as painting and related tasks directed by the responsible manager; * Complete monitoring forms to track chemical input, treatment, output, and consumption. * Perform biological treatment and physicochemical treatment according to the operated system. * Conduct various cleaning tasks at the plant to maintain a consistently organized and tidy workplace. * Report any irregularities, problems, or incidents occurring onsite to the responsible person so that appropriate measures can be taken promptly. * Receive chemicals and other materials to prepare solutions correctly whenever required. * Activate shutdown of recirculation pumps and chemical dosing units to perform equipment maintenance. * Accompany internal and external visits/audits within the operational area where employed. * Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and proper use of personal and collective protective equipment; **Requirements and Qualifications:** ### **Education and Courses** * Completed technical education in **Chemistry.** * Specific courses in **Water Treatment (WTP)** and **Wastewater Treatment (WWTP)** * Knowledge of **Activated Sludge Microbiology** ### **Preferred Qualifications** * WTP operation: coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, and disinfection * WWTP operation: Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF), activated sludge, aeration control, and sludge disposal * Parameter control: pH, turbidity, COD, BOD, TSS, chlorine, solids, and flow rate * Handling and dosing of chemical products * Interpretation of laboratory results and process adjustments * Basic knowledge of **operational maintenance**, fault identification, and first-level response Minimum Education Level: Technical Course * DENTAL ASSISTANCE * MEDICAL ASSISTANCE * MEAL VOUCHER * FOOD VOUCHER
