Description
We are seeking a **Collection Assistant.**
Support the information management of the MASP collection and loaned items, ensuring data quality, integrity, and accessibility under supervision and in compliance with national and international best practices and standards for museum documentation. Perform collection cataloging, data review and standardization, retrospective documentation, digital asset preservation, collection digitization and photography, and researcher support.

* **Working hours:** Rotating 5x2 schedule, preferably during flexible hours from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with a 1-hour lunch break.
**Responsibilities and duties**
* Carry out cataloging processes for new acquisitions and loans, including entering and reviewing information in the collection database.
* Under supervision, identify and resolve informational gaps in the collection by reviewing and supplementing data to ensure information integrity.
* Standardize collection data for efficient import into the museum’s information management systems, ensuring record standardization and quality.
* Participate in retrospective documentation projects, assisting in evaluating procedural deficiencies and proposing improvements to records in accordance with current international and institutional standards.
* Manage, organize, update, and monitor collection records (textual and iconographic) in the museum’s digital asset management system.
* Organize and process printed/analogue collection records, ensuring their proper preservation and accessibility.
* Organize and oversee collection digitization and photography sessions, monitoring file receipt and verifying technical image parameter compliance of delivered files.
* Support researcher inquiries (internal and external), ensuring appropriate recording of consultation outcomes in the museum’s database.
* Perform other related tasks as directed by the immediate supervisor.
**Requirements and qualifications**
* Bachelor’s degree (completed or currently enrolled from the 6th semester onward) in Museology, History, Visual Arts, Archival Science, Social Sciences, or related fields.
* Knowledge of museum documentation and collection management processes.
* General knowledge of international cataloging and metadata standards and guidelines (CIDOC, Spectrum, Dublin Core).
* Basic understanding of photography and digital image quality control.
* Intermediate Office suite proficiency, with emphasis on Excel.
* Basic Adobe Suite proficiency (Photoshop, Bridge) for image editing and organization.
* Familiarity with digital asset management (DAM) systems.
* 1–2 years of experience in collection information management and/or digitization activities.
**DESIRED**
* Basic English (reading ability); additional languages are advantageous.
* Complementary training or experience in museum documentation, collection management, or cultural heritage digitization.
