A Fortune 500 company with operations in 21 countries, Assurant advances the connected world by partnering with the world’s leading brands to develop innovative solutions and deliver an enhanced customer experience through mobile device solutions, extended warranties, vehicle protection services, lender-placed insurance, and other specialty products. **Location:** Barueri (Alphaville) **Working Hours:** 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM **About the Role:** The Actuarial Specialist is responsible for managing actuarial activities, conducting analyses and studies related to pricing, determination and monitoring of technical reserves, feasibility and performance assessments of products, as well as reporting actuarial information to the Parent Company and regulatory authorities, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and with Assurant’s strategies and policies. **Key Responsibilities** * Coordinate departmental activities under their responsibility from both technical and administrative perspectives, defining priorities and providing guidance on standards, procedures, concepts, operations, etc., to contribute toward achieving the Company’s objectives. * Manage actuarial technical reserves, analyzing the values considered, monitoring changes, suggesting possible adjustments, and seeking the optimal calculation methodology—and consequently, better alignment of reserves. * Coordinate ROI (Return on Investment) calculations, verifying and validating the parameters used, aiming to improve product performance and increase profitability per customer. * Monitor the calculation of the Required Minimum Capital and track its variations, pursuing improvements while ensuring compliance with Company guidelines and applicable legislation. * Coordinate liability consistency testing using proprietary methodologies to enhance reserve estimation accuracy. * Participate in product development and modifications, enabling and coordinating pricing/issuance calculations for products aligned with the Company’s strategy and market practices. * Develop, analyze, and negotiate reinsurance contracts, conducting studies and simulations in accordance with applicable legislation, aiming to increase risk acceptance capacity, maximize results, and ensure the Company’s financial and asset security. * Be responsible for reconciling data entered into the Elita system versus Acsel, coordinating necessary adjustments to ensure data accuracy for the Company. * Coordinate the construction of databases used by the team, validating them against accounting data, correcting any discrepancies, and building new supporting tables to ensure operational correctness and/or improvement. * Monitor updates to Pricing Assumptions, reviewing monthly the need for adjustments arising from business developments, products, and database experience. * Participate—alongside the team—in analyzing portfolio management results to propose actions addressing identified needs. * Review New Business Process (NBP) studies prior to submission to the international area to ensure information accuracy. * Track pricing requests arising from received inquiries or internal analyses, assessing their feasibility and defining action plans; validate calculations performed in case of changes. * Participate in special pricing analyses not yet standardized or related to new product demands. * Coordinate the development of applications for portfolio management analysis and pricing simulations, evaluating alternatives and proposing those best aligned with established objectives. * Advise various leadership levels across the Company on technical actuarial matters to inform and support decision-making. * Coordinate managerial reports and presentations on insurance portfolio performance and other data under the area’s responsibility, using the Company’s database to report results, behaviors, and trends, supporting decision-making at all management levels. * Ensure timely responses to regulatory bodies, auditors, and the Parent Company—including provision of requested information and databases, clarification of actuarial data queries, etc.—to guarantee compliance with applicable legislation and institutional policies. * Stay updated on internal and external environments to identify and implement actions aimed at developing and improving operations under their responsibility. **Requirements** * Bachelor’s degree completed in Actuarial Science / Mathematics / Statistics * Advanced English proficiency * Strong technical knowledge of insurance, insurance legislation/regulation, international actuarial calculation methodologies, and statistics * SAS * SQL * MS Office Suite (advanced level) **Desired Skills** * MBA or postgraduate degree * Pricing of mass-market and/or auto insurance products **Benefits** * Hybrid work model (3 days remote, 2 days onsite) * Home office allowance * Sulamérica Health Insurance * Careplus Dental Insurance * Life Insurance * Meal voucher * 13th-month food basket * Transportation voucher / Shuttle service * Gym membership agreement – Total Pass * Employee assistance program * Payroll-deductible loan Birthday day off * If no application deadline is provided, this role may be a pipeline requisition, and we'll continue to collect applications on an ongoing basis, or there is no requirement for this information in the location where the role is posted.
