Use of AI (Cursor, Copilot) to enhance productivity and code quality **Position Overview** -------------------------- We are looking for a **Mid-to-Senior Java Developer** to work for a major digital bank, joining a global team focused on maintaining and evolving critical systems. The role involves corrective and evolutionary maintenance of the **Calypso** platform, as well as backend service development and system integrations. You will collaborate closely with local and offshore teams, ensuring delivery stability, continuous improvement, and alignment across geographies. **Responsibilities** --------------------- * Develop and evolve backend services using **Java** and **Spring Boot or Quarkus** * Perform corrective and evolutionary maintenance of the **Calypso** platform * Design and maintain **REST APIs** and system integrations * Work in **AWS cloud** environments * Participate in **code reviews**, technical refinements, and continuous improvement initiatives * Collaborate with offshore teams to ensure alignment and delivery efficiency * Use AI-assisted development tools (**Cursor, Copilot or similar**) to increase productivity and code quality **Mandatory Requirements** --------------------------- * 4–5 years of backend development experience with **Java 8+, 11 or later** * Strong hands-on experience with **Spring Boot and/or Quarkus** * Experience with **AWS** * Experience developing **APIs** and system integrations * Strong communication and collaboration skills * Experience with AI-assisted development tools (**Cursor, Copilot or similar**) * Knowledge of relational databases (**MySQL, PostgreSQL**) and non-relational databases (**DynamoDB, MongoDB**) * Experience with messaging and event streaming systems (**Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS, SNS**) * Knowledge of **microservices architecture**, including **Docker** and **Kubernetes** * Familiarity with **observability** best practices (structured logging, metrics, health checks), using tools such as **DataDog** * Experience with testing practices, including **unit tests (JUnit)** and **integration/contract tests (Postman/Newman)** * Experience with **CI/CD pipelines**, using **Jenkins or similar tools** * Strong understanding of software engineering principles and coding best practices (**Design Patterns, SOLID, Clean Code, 12-Factor App**) * For one of the positions, **proficiency in English is mandatory**, due to collaboration with offshore teams **Nice-to-Have Qualifications** ------------------------------- * Experience with **Quarkus** * Experience with **Calypso** and/or **financial market systems** * Additional experience with messaging tools (**Kafka, SQS, RabbitMQ**) * Exposure to **observability, DevOps, and CI/CD** practices
