Senior Java Backend Developer

Description

FCamara is seeking a **SENIOR JAVA BACKEND DEVELOPER** to work on microservices and messaging, developing, evolving, and maintaining Java backend solutions—ensuring scalability, resilience, performance, and efficient system integration through microservices and messaging architectures—at a market-leading Brazilian pharmacy company, a reference in Health and Well-being with over 3,000 stores across all Brazilian states. **Responsibilities and Assignments** **RESPONSIBILITIES:** * Develop and maintain Java-based microservices, adhering to software architecture and design best practices * Implement and integrate messaging solutions (asynchronous and event-driven) * Design and consume REST APIs and domain events * Participate in technical solution specification, contributing to architectural decisions * Implement observability practices (logs, metrics, and tracing) * Identify and resolve performance, concurrency, and scalability issues * Collaborate closely with product, QA, and infrastructure teams * Provide technical mentoring and support to less experienced developers * Ensure compliance with security standards, service versioning, and governance **Requirements and Qualifications** **Hard Skills** * Experience in Java: object-oriented programming, collections, concurrency, error handling, debugging, testing, and refactoring * Proven experience developing microservices and messaging systems * Experience with systemic evolution and legacy modernization, especially runtime upgrades, dependency updates, and framework migrations * Experience with Java 17 and solid understanding of Java 21 * Experience with Spring Boot and building/maintaining APIs and services * Hands-on experience with AWS: deployment, observability, troubleshooting, IAM, messaging, and integrations * Practical knowledge of Kubernetes: deployment, configuration, logs, probes, environment variables, secrets, and basic operations. Not required to operate Kubernetes directly, but must understand Pod/rollout management concepts * Familiarity with GitOps/CI-CD and continuous delivery workflows with change control.
