Job Summary: Care for residents, ensuring their well-being, safety, health, nutrition, personal hygiene, recreation, and leisure, following care plans and promoting independence. Key Highlights: 1. Comprehensive and humanized care for elderly residents. 2. Support for independence and autonomy in daily activities. 3. Stimulation of the resident's social life and emotional well-being. Job Responsibilities and Duties: * Care for unit residents according to regulations, procedures, and instructions from direct supervisors, ensuring the assisted person's well-being, safety, health, nutrition, personal hygiene, recreation, and leisure, and implementing the care plan prescribed by the medical and nursing team to maintain the resident's psycho-physiological condition through companionship and prescribed occupational and therapeutic activities. * Assist and/or provide appropriate care to residents with limitations in basic and instrumental activities of daily living, encouraging independence while respecting their autonomy; * Assist the resident/elderly person with proper use of oral, ocular, nasal, nebulized, and topical medications, as per medical instructions; * Maintain the resident's personal hygiene and clothing, as well as the hygiene of the resident's designated space—typically their room; * Help, encourage, and perform daily living activities such as personal and oral hygiene, feeding, mobility, supporting the elderly person’s self-sufficiency—doing things with them, not for them. * Follow diets and recommendations indicated by nutrition professionals; encourage and assist the resident during meals; * Support the resident’s mobility and assist them with other exercises recommended by professionals; * Keep the resident company, discuss topics of interest, help with manual tasks, accompany them to medical appointments and internal unit procedures; * Support and stimulate the resident’s social life according to their condition, enabling continued activity and participation, fostering a sense of value, preserving self-esteem, and encouraging communication and socialization through interaction, recreation, and leisure; * Ensure resident safety by monitoring physical infrastructure (handrails, non-slip floors, etc.), adopted procedures, building maintenance needs, orthotic prescriptions, and other equipment;" Requirements and Qualifications: * Completed High School; * Elderly caregiver training course (mandatory) * Experience in elderly care in ILPIs (Institutions for Long-Term Care of the Elderly) and/or private residences, including experience assisting with bathing, feeding, repositioning, and bed-to-chair transfers.
