**Senior Backend Developer** We are looking for a **Senior Backend Developer** to drive people and businesses forward through innovation, with attitude, leadership, and a focus on getting things done. **Your impact in this role:** * Design and evolve robust, scalable backend solutions in Java, covering the full lifecycle from architecture design to production operations; * Build and maintain RESTful APIs, ensuring well-defined contracts, versioning, and backward compatibility; * Contribute to architectural decisions and system design for distributed systems and microservices; * Work with messaging systems and asynchronous processing in high-volume scenarios; * Ensure code quality through best practices, automated testing, and code reviews; * Operate in cloud-native environments, with containerized and orchestrated applications; * Actively participate in CI/CD pipelines, contributing to automation and delivery reliability; * Provide technical support to the team, serving as a reference point and fostering collective growth; * Collaborate with cross-functional teams, aligning technical decisions with business objectives. ✅ **Essential Requirements:** * Solid backend development experience with Java (11+), using Spring ecosystem frameworks; * Proven experience developing RESTful APIs; * Hands-on experience with distributed architectures and microservices; * Practical knowledge of concurrent programming and multithreading; * Experience with relational databases, including modeling and query optimization; * Hands-on experience with ORMs (e.g., JPA/Hibernate or similar); * Experience with messaging/event systems, especially Kafka; * Consistent practice with automated testing (unit, integration, and awareness of E2E); * Experience with application containerization and orchestration; * Experience in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP); * Active participation in CI/CD pipelines; * Foundational knowledge of information security applied to software, including: Cryptography, Authentication and authorization, Protection of sensitive data (financial context). * **Nice-to-have:** * Experience with observability (metrics, logs, monitoring); * Experience with NoSQL or in-memory databases; * Stronger involvement in backend architecture and technical decision-making; * Experience with performance and load testing; * Experience in technical mentoring or supporting other engineers’ development; * Prior knowledge of the financial domain, payment systems, or regulated systems. **Benefits:** Remote work allowance Flash card Access to South Academy courses and certifications Financial education program **About South:** You’ll join a collaborative team that values autonomy and continuous improvement, working on projects with real business impact—where turning ideas into deliverables is part of everyday life.
