We are building a new generation of software engineering grounded in **Specification-Driven Development (SDD)** and **Agentic Engineering**. In this model, the role of the **Specialist** evolves from a traditional code implementer to a system designer and technical mentor. You will be responsible for transforming complex business problems into executable specifications, defining guardrails, creating validation mechanisms, and orchestrating specialized AI agents driving the evolution of our high-scale platform (built on the **Ruby on Rails** ecosystem). We seek professionals who understand that raw code ceases to be the primary asset and instead becomes a byproduct of a well-crafted specification—operating in perfect symbiosis between robust software engineering and artificial intelligence. **Responsibilities and Duties** * **AI-Native Orchestration & Development:** Design, build, and evolve AI-assisted development workflows and multiple specialized agents (architecture, implementation, testing, and quality). * **Architectural Leadership & SDD:** Translate logistics and high-scale challenges into clear, complete, and executable specifications (System Design Documents). Actively participate in system design decisions (modular monoliths, microservices, and event-driven architectures). * **Harness & Governance:** Build validation harnesses and technical/functional guardrails to ensure safety, consistency, performance, and compliance of outputs generated by agents. * **Reverse Engineering & Critical Review:** Audit, test, and refactor AI-generated code within the Ruby on Rails ecosystem, rigorously maintaining quality, security, and scalability pillars. * **Mentorship & Culture:** Develop and guide the technology team, promoting an *AI-Native* culture, prompt/context engineering, and modern development best practices. * **Advanced Troubleshooting:** Support squads in resolving complex production issues, performance bottlenecks in distributed environments, and optimization of high-concurrency ecosystems. **Essential Requirements: Applied AI in Engineering & GenAI Symbiosis** * Practical experience or deep interest in using generative AI tools for coding and automation aligned with the agentic paradigm (**GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, OpenHands, Devin**, among others). * Ability to delegate raw code writing to AI while focusing on direction, governance, *Prompt/Context Engineering*, and *Agentic Workflows*. * Capacity to decompose complex problems, model systems, and apply systemic reasoning. **Software Engineering & Backend Ecosystem** * Strong production experience developing with **Ruby on Rails** in high-scale environments. * Deep expertise in architectural patterns (MVC, microservices, RESTful API design, messaging and event systems such as **Kafka, RabbitMQ, or AWS SQS**). * Advanced experience in performance optimization (avoiding N+1 queries, strategic caching, large-scale asynchronous processing with **Sidekiq** or Resque). * Proficiency in relational databases (**PostgreSQL/MySQL**) and data modeling for high availability. **Quality, Reliability, and Observability** * Strong culture of automated testing and validation: **TDD/BDD, RSpec** (mocks, stubs), *Contract Testing*, and building validation harnesses. * Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (**Docker**), and cloud providers (**AWS, GCP, or Azure**). * Hands-on experience with observability and monitoring tools (**New Relic, Datadog, Prometheus/Grafana**). **Nice-to-Have** * Prior practical experience with *Specification-Driven Development* (SDD). * Building and evaluating custom LLMs or proprietary multi-agent systems. * DevOps practices (Infrastructure as Code — Terraform, Kubernetes). * Expertise or hands-on experience with high-scale architectures focused on Logistics, Marketplaces, or E-commerce. **How We Measure This Specialist’s Success** Less by the volume of personally authored code produced, and more by the ability to: * Create exceptionally high-quality specifications and SDDs that guide AIs unambiguously. * Build robust guardrails and reliable harnesses ensuring AI-generated code is secure and performant. * Increase agent autonomy in daily team operations, reducing rework and accelerating time-to-market. * Elevate the team’s technical bar, accelerating engineering maturity through intelligent automation. **Work Model** We operate under a fully remote model, offering flexibility while maintaining virtual interaction with the team to ensure effective collaboration and continuous growth. ‘’If you’re seeking a growth-oriented, challenging environment—come be happy!’’ Our values unite us, and our differences empower us as a group.
