Body Repair Technician

Description

Restore the bodywork and metal components of vehicles damaged by dents, collisions, and other accidents, using tools and techniques to remove dents, align, shape, and, if necessary, replace damaged parts. The job involves tasks ranging from disassembling and reassembling the vehicle body to final preparation of the part. Key responsibilities of a Body Repair Technician include: * **Damage repair:** Restore the structure and surface of the vehicle body by correcting dents, scratches, deformations, and misalignments. * **Metal sheet handling:** Cut, shape, sand, and work metal sheets for repairs, including techniques such as "paintless dent repair" (PDR) to remove dents without repainting. * **Disassembly and assembly:** Remove and reinstall body parts, such as doors, hoods, and bumpers, that have been damaged. * **Welding and finishing:** Use welding to join parts, and apply fillers and other materials to finish and prepare surfaces for painting. * **Assessment and diagnosis:** Analyze vehicle damage, identify required repairs, and follow technical specifications and drawings.
