Description
Check-Up Medicina e Diagnóstico, the third largest laboratory in the state of Minas Gerais by number of tests processed, operating in the fields of Clinical Analysis and Imaging Diagnosis, is seeking a **Junior Laboratory Technician**.
**Mission:**
Process biological samples.
Analyze quality control results and biological sample processing outcomes.
Support the supervisor in various departmental activities.
**RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES:**
* Perform maintenance and cleaning of equipment; verify supplies, reagents, and consumables.
* Register patients in the system according to physician requests and current acceptance rules.
* Complete the department’s control spreadsheet.
* Reconstitute controls and calibrators required for the department, where applicable (Immunochemistry and Emergency).
* Verify sample quality upon receipt, recording non-conformities (acceptance under restriction) and/or need for recollection (rejection).
* Process routine biological samples.
* Count supplies within the department.
* Request reagents for subsequent routine use.
* Monitor delay statistics.
* Generate Quarantine and delayed-sample reports.
* Perform tests manually.
* Store and discard sorology samples (cold room and refrigerators) within the defined timeframe.
* Contact technical support when necessary.
* Resolve mechanical equipment issues when required.
* Collect biological samples when necessary.
* Clean and organize workbenches and the department overall.
* Dispose of waste according to the PGRSS (Healthcare Waste Management Plan).
* Record department-generated data in the appropriate spreadsheets.
* Follow department-defined routines.
* Assist in quality control processing.
* Assist in training new department staff on performed activities.
* Train new department staff on performed activities.
* Process and analyze quality control, record non-conformities and corrective actions taken, and notify supervision and management of any inadequacies.
* Contact equipment and supply vendors to resolve issues related to machines, devices, and reagents.
* Ensure preservation and maintenance of processing equipment.
* Release Level I and Level II test results.
* Contact units (UAIS and hospitals) and physicians to obtain clinical data.
* Contact units (UAIS and hospitals) and physicians to communicate clinical limits and obtain clinical data.
* Directly contact patients for possible clarification of doubts and communication of abnormal results.
* Guide and supervise the team in the absence of technical supervision and/or technical management.
* Modify test masks in the laboratory information system.
* Notify epidemiological surveillance of notifiable diseases.
* Operate communication between the operating system and the interface.
* Assist the department supervisor in validating new equipment.
* Validate new equipment.
**EDUCATION:**
Minimum: Technical or undergraduate degree in Clinical Analysis or Pathology.
EXPERIENCE:
Test processing;
Quality control and test processing and analysis;
Report release.
**KNOWLEDGE:**
Intermediate computer skills;
Sample collection and test processing;
Quality control processing and analysis;
Technical department areas to correlate results prior to release;
Statistical data analysis;
Current regulations governing report release;
Advanced knowledge of the operating system (Shift LIS).
**SCHEDULE: Monday–Friday 07:00–16:30; Saturday 07:00–11:00.**
