The Decision Support and Supply Chain Management team at Tecgraf has an open position for a Junior Data Scientist (recent graduate).
The professional will work on digital product development projects, supporting both product management and technical data science activities. This position is ideal for those seeking to develop an integrated perspective across business, data, and technology, working in a collaborative environment using agile methodologies.
Responsibilities:
* Support the Product Owner in gathering and detailing requirements from clients and stakeholders;
* Assist in translating business needs into data and AI use cases;
* Perform exploratory data analysis and data set preprocessing;
* Support Python-based solution development alongside more experienced data scientists;
* Contribute to the implementation and validation of data models and algorithms;
* Participate in project agile ceremonies (planning, dailies, reviews, and retrospectives);
* Support technical and functional documentation of developed solutions.
Requirements:
* Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields;
* Proficiency in Python;
* Interest in data science, machine learning, and generative AI;
* Strong analytical ability and interest in understanding business problems;
* Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively;
* Availability to work in a hybrid model, with a minimum of 16 weekly in-person hours at the PUC-Rio campus.
Desirable qualifications:
* Academic experience or projects in data analysis or machine learning;
* Knowledge of Python libraries (pandas, numpy, scikit-learn, etc.);
* Familiarity with requirements elicitation or client interaction;
* Experience with agile methodologies (Scrum).
