This role combines individualized guidance, participation in formal evaluation panels, document management, and proactive monitoring of student engagement in the Learning Management System (LMS). Success in this position requires deep technical expertise in the relevant field, strong research methodology guidance skills, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive and motivating academic experience. **Responsibilities** --------------------- * Conduct meetings with students according to the pre-approved mentoring schedule, providing direction on topic selection, research design, and project milestones. * Monitor each stage of the Capstone Project, review interim deliverables, and ensure adherence to established deadlines. * Participate in formal defense panels for assigned students; fairly evaluate presentations and final deliverables. * Prepare and submit all required forms to formalize, register, and monitor student progress throughout the Capstone process. * Regularly review LMS activity, confirm mandatory student postings, and proactively intervene when performance indicators fall below expectations. * Encourage continuous student engagement throughout all project phases by providing constructive and timely feedback. * Attend program coordination sessions, mandatory meetings, and professional development workshops. * Encourage student participation and, where possible, contribute to inspiring new cohorts. * Perform other duties inherent to the role and projects assigned by the Vice President for Academic Affairs. **Qualifications** ----------------- * Terminal degree — Doctorate (PhD, EdD, DBA or equivalent) in a relevant or related field; record of academic publications. * Minimum of two (2) years of experience guiding graduate-level research or supervising thesis/capstone projects; proven success in virtual or hybrid environments. * Proficiency (speaking, reading, and writing) in English. Portuguese or Spanish are assets. * Advanced knowledge of research methodology and academic writing standards. * Proficiency with LMS platforms (Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard) and MS Teams. * Familiarity with data tracking tools (e.g., Business Analytics). * Strong organizational skills, discipline in meeting deadlines, and attention to detail. * Ability to provide empathetic yet rigorous feedback.
