**Backend Development Specialist** **Summary:** We are looking for a Backend Developer to join our VR team. If you are passionate about people and committed to impacting the lives of millions of workers, supporting and guiding daily solutions, come work with us. **Responsibilities:** * Develop, evolve, and maintain scalable, resilient, and secure backend services and APIs. * Design and implement solutions focused on performance, availability, and reliability. * Work on data modeling and persistence, ensuring integrity, consistency, and governance. * Integrate internal and external systems via REST APIs and/or messaging. * Collaborate with Frontend, Product, UX, Data, and QA teams to deliver end-to-end solutions. * Apply software engineering best practices, version control, and architectural standards. * Implement and maintain automated tests to ensure delivery quality and stability. * Monitor applications in production, analyzing and resolving incidents. * Contribute to application architecture evolution, observability, and security. * Participate in agile ceremonies, contributing to estimations, planning, and continuous improvement. * Support maintenance and evolutionary sustainment activities for systems. **Education:** * Completed undergraduate degree. **Experience:** * Solid backend development experience with languages such as Java, Kotlin, Node.js or similar. * Knowledge of microservices architecture. * Experience building and maintaining RESTful (and/or GraphQL) APIs. * Strong hands-on experience with data modeling and persistence in relational and/or non-relational databases. * Knowledge of messaging and asynchronous processing (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ or equivalents). * Experience with Git and collaborative version control workflows. * Practice with automated testing (unit and integration tests). * Knowledge of software engineering best practices such as Clean Code, SOLID, and design patterns. * Understanding of backend application security, performance, and scalability. * Experience with cloud environments and containers (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes or similar). **Behavioral Competencies:** * Ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams. * Strong technical and functional communication skills. * Sense of ownership regarding solution quality and stability. * Analytical mindset for problem solving. * Product-oriented thinking with focus on business value generation. * Commitment to continuous learning and technical growth. **Other Requirements:** * Experience with large-scale products and high-availability environments. * Hands-on experience with CI/CD and automation pipelines. * Knowledge of observability (logs, metrics, monitoring). * Experience with systemic integrations and distributed ecosystems. * Prior experience working in agile squads (Scrum, Kanban). * Knowledge or experience in the financial, benefits, or payment industries. **Benefits:** * Meal Allowance * Food Allowance * Evolui Program \- Partnership with Unico Skill * Culture Allowance * Medical Assistance * Dental Assistance * Life Insurance * Pharmacy Partnership * Profit Sharing Program * Monthly Remote Work Allowance * Total Pass and/or Wellhub * Partnership with Zenklub * Daycare/Babysitter Allowance * Paid Leave **At VR, we value diversity and inclusion.
