




**What does the Portobank Data Platform area, Data Foundation Squad, Databricks Data Platform team, do at Porto Bank?** Responsible for providing, maintaining, and evolving the company’s entire data engineering ecosystem. As a Platform Engineer with hands-on experience in Databricks and Microsoft Azure, you will be a key contributor to delivering robust and innovative technical solutions for large-scale data environments. You will work on building, optimizing, and sustaining complex environments, integrating technologies such as Apache Spark, Delta Lake, Azure DevOps, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Streaming, and Lakehouse architecture. With strong technical expertise and strategic vision, you will support the data engineering team, ensuring high performance, scalability, and data governance. **Responsibilities and Duties** * Provide technical support to engineering and business teams; * Perform diagnosis and resolution of platform incidents; * Develop monitoring and control dashboards for the platform, enhancing operational visibility and proactivity; * Contribute to automation initiatives and internal tool development to improve efficiency; * Manage and resolve technical tickets via JIRA, ensuring agility and quality in deliveries; * Create and maintain technical documentation, manuals, and internal knowledge bases to disseminate expertise; * Continuously enhance your expertise in Azure and Databricks through training, certifications, and hands-on projects; * Balance between Support and Development: Focus on resolving JIRA tickets and diagnosing/resolving incidents (necessary but reactive) may consume time otherwise dedicated to automation and internal tool development (activities that drive maturity). * Deep Knowledge Across Multiple Domains: Proficiency is expected in Azure, Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, Observability, and Lakehouse. Maintaining excellence across all these areas simultaneously is challenging and requires clear prioritization based on where the platform team most needs reinforcement. * Standardization and Automation (CI/CD/IaC): Although the role mentions Databricks and Azure DevOps, there will be a need to build CI/CD processes for data code and infrastructure (IaC). * Knowledge Transfer: The required technical expertise is extensive (Databricks, Azure, Spark, Lakehouse, Observability). Challenge: The candidate must be capable of disseminating this knowledge across the broader platform team and to data/business teams. * **Requirements and Qualifications** * Solid experience in data engineering and analytical platforms, including design, development, testing, and maintenance of data pipelines. * Minimum 2 years of professional experience in Microsoft Azure and Databricks environments — mandatory requirement. * Proficiency in SQL, ETL/Data Warehousing tools, and relational and NoSQL databases. * Expertise in troubleshooting complex cloud and on-premises environments. * Demonstrated hands-on experience with observability tools for developing dashboards, alerts, and automations aimed at meeting operational KPIs (SLA, SLO).
