Feel free to register for all positions of interest; however, we recommend completing one application process before starting another. **Responsibilities and Duties** **JOB MISSION:** Promote communication between Deaf individuals and the hearing society (and vice versa), enabling access to curriculum content developed by the Institution. Interpret texts for translation and interpret speech instantaneously, consecutively translating via sign language and voice-over, as well as translating into gestures for Deaf individuals and spoken words for the hearing society. Participate in events, conferences, lectures, workshops, and others, orally or gesturally reproducing the message to be conveyed — enabling understanding and dialogue while respecting the respective context and cultural characteristics of all parties. **MAIN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:** Establish communication between Deaf users of LIBRAS and hearing individuals, aiming to mediate communication between Deaf and hearing people and ensuring accessibility to dialogue and interpretation. Interpret events, academic ceremonies, and other activities, and accompany Deaf students during learning moments — conveying speakers’ words accurately to facilitate comprehension of messages. Interpret orally and/or in sign language, simultaneously or consecutively, speeches, debates, texts, and electronic communication formats — respecting the respective context and cultural characteristics of all parties. Interpret discussions and negotiations, paying attention to message content to faithfully convey what was expressed. Interpret and translate speeches, events, etc., instantly via sign language, enabling effective communication. Participate in conferences, lectures, workshops, institutional sports events, study trips, and others — accompanying Deaf individuals to ensure their accessibility and comprehension of transmitted or discussed content. Interpret classroom instruction into sign language for Deaf students; mediate the Deaf student’s integration within the class (inclusion) and with the instructor to maximize the Deaf student’s understanding; advise instructors on Deaf culture so they may adapt teaching methods accordingly. Convey the Deaf student’s ideas into Portuguese when the student expresses them. Inform how LIBRAS influences the Deaf student’s Portuguese writing, and clarify linguistic differences between the two languages. Prepare reports on classroom activities to keep the LIBRAS advisor informed about activity progress. Interpret and assist during staff consultations. Contribute to analyses and improvement projects for the department’s overall activities, seeking ways to rationalize time, optimize efficiency, and enhance quality. Comply with internal regulations, health, hygiene, and occupational safety procedures inherent to the department, as well as compliance requirements and applicable corporate regulations.
