Feel free to register for all available positions that interest you; however, we recommend completing one application process before starting another. **Responsibilities and Duties** **JOB MISSION:** Promote communication between deaf individuals and the hearing society—or vice versa—enabling access to curriculum content developed by the Institution. Interpret texts for translation and interpret speech instantaneously, consecutively translating via sign language and voice-over, as well as conveying messages gesturally for deaf individuals and verbally for the hearing society. Participate in events, conferences, lectures, workshops, among others, orally or gesturally reproducing the message to be disseminated, thereby enabling understanding and dialogue while respecting the respective context and cultural characteristics of all parties. **MAIN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:** * Establish communication between deaf users of Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) and hearing individuals, aiming to mediate communication between deaf and hearing individuals and ensuring accessibility to dialogue and interpretation. * Interpret events, academic ceremonies, and other activities, as well as support deaf individuals during learning moments, conveying speakers’ words to ensure comprehension of messages. Interpret orally and/or in sign language—simultaneously or consecutively—speeches, debates, texts, and electronic communication forms, respecting the respective context and cultural characteristics of all parties. * Interpret discussions and negotiations, paying attention to message content to faithfully convey what was expressed. * Interpret and translate speeches, events, etc., instantaneously using sign language, facilitating communication understanding. Participate in conferences, lectures, workshops, institutional sports events, study trips, among others, accompanying deaf individuals to ensure their accessibility and understanding of transmitted or discussed content. * Interpret classroom instruction into sign language for deaf students, act as a mediator between the deaf student and classmates (inclusion) and between the student and instructor to maximize the deaf student’s comprehension, and advise instructors on Deaf culture so they may make appropriate adaptations when teaching. * Convey the deaf student’s ideas into Portuguese when the student expresses them. * Inform how Libras influences the deaf student’s Portuguese writing, and clarify linguistic differences between the two languages. * Prepare reports on classroom activities to keep the Libras advisor informed about progress. * Interpret and assist in staff consultations. * Contribute to analyses and improvement projects across departmental activities, seeking ways to rationalize and optimize time and improve quality.
