Description
Job Summary:
A waiter ensures high-quality service by preparing the dining area, greeting and seating customers, presenting the menu, answering questions, relaying orders to the kitchen or bar, and maintaining the dining room's organization.
Key Highlights:
1. High-quality customer service
2. Organization and preparation of the environment
3. Customer retention
The waiter is the professional responsible for delivering high-quality customer service in establishments such as restaurants, bars, cafés, and events. Their duties begin even before customers arrive—preparing the environment, arranging tables, checking cleanliness, and restocking necessary items such as cutlery, napkins, and glasses. Upon customers' arrival, the waiter greets them courteously, seats them, and presents the menu, remaining readily available to answer questions about dishes, beverages, ingredients, and preparation methods. Once orders are placed, they are accurately relayed to the kitchen or bar, and the waiter monitors order progress to ensure correct and timely delivery. During the meal, the waiter remains attentive to customers’ needs, observing whether additional assistance is required and whether service satisfaction is maintained. At the end of the experience, the waiter presents the bill, processes payment, and bids farewell politely, aiming to leave customers satisfied with the service. Beyond these core responsibilities, the waiter also maintains the dining room’s organization, collaborates with the team to ensure smooth operations, and—often directly contributes to customer retention, serving as one of the establishment’s primary frontline service representatives.
