




Job Summary: Operates cargo handling and lifting equipment, such as cranes, performing loading and unloading operations while ensuring maintenance and safety. Key Highlights: 1. Ensure proper condition and maintenance of the equipment **Description:** Operate crane-type cargo handling and/or lifting equipment to perform loading and unloading operations, either in the yard or in response to specific or scheduled work requests. Operate lifting machines and equipment by adjusting controls and activating machine movements. Assess the operational conditions of machines and equipment by interpreting instrument panels, checking power supply sources, and testing activation controls. Prepare the area for equipment operation and transport personnel and materials using lifting machines and equipment. Work in compliance with safety, hygiene, quality, and environmental protection standards. Responsibilities and Duties Ensure proper equipment condition regarding maintenance and correct usage. Prepare checklists to identify any damage to the equipment and report findings to the supervisor. Verify that the equipment is properly isolated within its operating radius to prevent collisions with other equipment. Check equipment fueling requirements and inform the supervisor. Verify the lifting capacity of each piece of equipment and ensure operations are conducted according to load specifications. Lift cargo from ships using cranes and position them appropriately in the yard or on the ship for storage and subsequent loading or unloading. Occasionally remove cargo from the yard destined for the ship’s deck, using cranes to place it onto trailers for transport to the ship’s side and subsequent reloading. Execute material transportation routines required for warehouse operations using cranes to optimize process time. Maintain physical space organization designated for cargo, dividing cargo across the yard and conducting appropriate storage. Position materials in suitable locations via crane operation, removing scattered loads to facilitate vehicle and equipment traffic. Perform related tasks as directed by immediate supervision. Participate daily in DDS (Daily Safety Meeting). Correctly use all personal protective equipment (PPE). It is the operator’s responsibility to maintain equipment functionality, including performing supplementary maintenance tasks, inspections, and reporting observed defects or failures for correction.
