Provide courteous service and ensure customers enjoy a pleasant experience when completing their purchases. * Perform cash register opening and closing procedures. * + Monitor the cash limit at your checkout station, calling the cashier supervisor to conduct cash withdrawals whenever the limit is reached (cash withdrawal) and verifying the withdrawn amounts together with the supervisor. + Prepare snacks requested by customers at the snack bar. + Arrange the counter with fried or baked savory items. + Monitor the expiration dates of products displayed for sale. + Present products and services to customers, make them available at the checkout, and facilitate their sale. + Provide pleasant and empathetic customer service, and scan products and services using an optical reader. + Verify the authenticity of banknotes received. + Notify the cashier supervisor whenever necessary to reverse possible errors, cancel items, locate desired but unavailable products. + Interact with supermarket operators regarding issues such as items left at the checkout, price discrepancies, and customer inquiries about products. + Provide priority service to pregnant women, elderly individuals, and persons with disabilities. + Receive payments for products and services. + Control incoming cash (cash). + Assist customers in packing their purchases. + Contribute toward achieving sales targets. + Verify the weight of goods arriving from the perishables department. + Maintain all cash-related documentation properly organized, including: TEF (Electronic Funds Transfer), where receipts serve as validation records for debit or credit card purchases; manage POS (Points of Sale / Point of Sale) terminals; process payments made via portable card machines, ensuring proper control of receipts for transactions not validated on the card machine located at the PDV (Point of Sale). + Register orders processed at the PDV (Point of Sale). + During idle time, organize checkout baskets, return shopping carts to designated customer access areas, handle product returns left at the checkout by customers, assist in product pricing, and support store decoration for festive occasions. + Record operational incidents at the cash register: exchanges, withdrawals, item cancellations, receipts, and card transactions. + Notify the cashier supervisor immediately upon suspicion of theft by customers or staff at the checkout. + Inform the cashier supervisor in case of cash shortages (cash discrepancy). + Accurately complete all fields on forms and indicate the presence of refrigerated goods when applicable. + Do not open cash registers mechanically, even if technical equipment issues occur; instead, request assistance from your immediate supervisor to resolve such problems. + Keep the checkout area clean, hygienic, and readily accessible to customers. + Maintain cleanliness of the snack bar, both indoors and outdoors. + Receive complaints calmly and empathetically, attempting to resolve simple issues directly; otherwise, escalate to leadership to finalize service and resolve the issue—avoid confrontations with customers. + Ensure cleanliness and organization of your workplace and shared facilities, such as cafeterias and restrooms.
