




**JOB SUMMARY** The Cost Engineer is responsible for ensuring the economic and financial efficiency of the unit, managing **Opex and Capex**, budgetary control, and cost analysis. This professional leads the unit’s budgeting process, conducts detailed cost analyses (including FCA, inputs, contracts, and variances), and leads **cost reduction projects** in partnership with operational areas. They are also responsible for cost closing, bridge preparation, and economic feasibility and trade-off analyses to support strategic decision-making. Additionally, they actively participate in management rituals, proposing process and indicator improvements to ensure continuous resource optimization. **KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:** Management of Opex and Capex; * Leading the unit’s budget; * Cost control across departments through FCA analyses (input PVP, contracts, fixed cost variances, etc.); * Leading and supporting cost reduction projects with operational areas; * Responsible for cost closing and bridge analyses; * Economic feasibility and trade-off analyses to support decision-making; * Collaborating with operational areas in management rituals, supporting variance analyses and action plans; * Proposing improvements to cost management processes, routines, and indicators. **REQUIRED TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:** * Prior experience in a mining operational environment, with close involvement with mine, plant, and/or maintenance areas; * Knowledge of cost planning, control, and closing (budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and bridges); * Experience with cost and performance management tools and systems; * Knowledge and practical application of continuous improvement methodologies (PDCA, Lean, and Six Sigma); * Advanced Excel (structured analyses, Power Query, database handling); * Advanced Power BI for performance analysis and decision support; * PowerPoint for executive presentation development; * Strong analytical capability, focused on data-driven decisions and economic feasibility.
