Description

Job Summary: The professional will receive production orders, prepare offset printing equipment, monitor print quality, and instruct assistants, ensuring the execution of graphic jobs. Key Highlights: 1. Operate offset printing machines for various graphic products. 2. Perform adjustments and quality control to ensure precise printing. 3. Autonomy to initiate production and guide the team. * Receives production orders daily for offset printing of books, brochures, newspapers, posters, and other company products, specifying quantity, paper type, colors, etc. * Reviews specifications and mandatory documentation (e.g., product models or final proofs for guidance) in the production order folder; analyzes: paper type, format, grammage, print run, number of colors, ink type, number of plates, varnish type (if applicable). * Prepares equipment according to product specifications: cleans printing rollers to remove residues from previous jobs, mounts engraved plates (CTP), checks and/or replenishes ink and water levels, adjusts paper feed, and calibrates digital controls according to the product’s color requirements. May use the "Pantone" system to formulate special-color inks by selecting, weighing, and mixing various base colors until the desired shade is achieved. * Starts the machine for a test run to verify print quality and correct color application, making necessary adjustments to achieve the required standard. Slides controls along the "color scale" until the product or client’s required color tone or luminance is attained. * Releases the process after confirming correct paper feeding positioning, required speed, and adherence to established quality standards for printing and color accuracy, using both manual and automatic devices. May pause the process for required adjustments or electromechanical maintenance of the equipment, if necessary. * Instructs the Printing Assistant on removing finished products for finishing, replenishing equipment supplies, cleaning parts and rollers, cleaning the work area, and other supporting tasks. * Maintains order and cleanliness of the workplace, equipment, and tools; requests maintenance services when needed; complies with specific procedures learned during training for safe operation of equipment and personal protective equipment to prevent occupational hazards and accidents. Monitors material usage/consumption and records completed work for tracking purposes. * Performs other duties related to the position as directed by supervisors. * Has autonomy to initiate production.
