Job Summary: The QA Engineering Specialist will be responsible for institutionalizing the Quality Maturity Model, ensuring quality through quality gates in CI/CD, and guaranteeing safe reuse of APIs. Experience with automated testing tools and CI/CD Role Overview The QA Engineering Specialist role owns the quality operating model for the organization, with the mandate to institutionalize the Quality Maturity Model (QMM), enforce quality in the delivery flow via quality gates in CI/CD (including authority to block deployments), and ensure safe reuse of Platform APIs (building blocks) by stream-aligned squads. What Changes in the System (QMM \+ Gates \+ Building Blocks) QMM defines baseline, maturity levels, and a squad-level roadmap. Quality gates transform quality standards into automated controls within the pipeline, reducing variation and regression risk (with authority to block releases when minimum criteria are unmet). Platform building blocks now have quality guaranteed by contract, compatibility, and non-regression, preventing multiple consumers from inheriting fragility. Experience and Skills **What we’re looking for in you:** * Leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. * Experience with Quality Maturity Model (QMM) * Development and Implementation of Quality Control Models: * Design and implement quality control models and tools. * Focus on adoption of continuous improvement policies and techniques. * Test Planning and Execution: * Plan test strategies. * Develop test plans. * Create test scenarios. * Execute functional, performance, regression, and other types of tests. * Automated Testing Tools and Frameworks: * Proven experience in testing and quality assurance for IT solutions. * Rest assured, Cucumber, Cypress, JMeter, and Bruno for end-to-end (E2E) web application testing. * CI/CD Practices: GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or Jenkins — knowledge of continuous integration and delivery, configuring pipelines that include automated testing stages. **Your key deliverables will be:** * QMM (maturity): define baseline, build roadmap, and lead QMM adoption across squads, with objective checkpoints and risk-based evolution. * Quality gates (decision rights): design, implement, and operate gates in CI/CD, with clear minimum criteria, incremental evolution, and authority to block deployment when gates are not satisfied. * Building block quality: establish quality strategy for reusable APIs (contracts, compatibility, regression, performance, versioning, and “consumer safety”). * Layered test strategy: standardize BDD and scalable automation, balancing cost × risk × speed (contract/integration/regression/performance). * Observability and resilience: align quality practices with strong observability and degradation strategies, reducing time to detection and recovery. * QA Chapter: lead the Chapter with pragmatic governance (playbooks, rituals, standards, and enablement), elevating consistency and scale. * Coaching and mentoring: develop fellow QAs (and influence engineering) toward sustainable adoption of BDD, automation, and quality discipline.
