We are looking for a **Senior Backend Developer** to work at the core of our customers’ financial and tax operations: the Services and NFS-e Issuance team. You will directly contribute to developing and maintaining features on our proprietary platform. This is not an ordinary backend challenge. You’ll need to navigate a complex integration ecosystem, handle idiosyncrasies across hundreds of different municipalities, design large-scale (batch) billing architecture, and address imminent impacts from new tax legislation. If you enjoy optimizing databases, building resilient cloud-based integrations, and leveraging Artificial Intelligence to enhance your code, this role is your next career step. **What You’ll Do Daily** ------------------------------------- * **Integration Engineering:** Design, develop, and maintain robust API (REST/SOAP) integrations with municipal web services across Brazil. * **Large-Scale Billing:** Architect and optimize batch billing routines, ensuring efficient asynchronous processing, queue handling, network-failure resilience, and intelligent retry mechanisms. * **Optimization and Performance:** Deeply engage with SQL Server databases. Analyze execution plans, optimize heavy queries, create/adjust indexes, and ensure the database supports high daily issuance volumes without bottlenecks. * **Tax Strategy and Tax Reform:** Translate complex municipal tax legislation into application logic and lead frontline adaptation of our ERP to new scenarios and impacts arising from the **Tax Reform** on service sales. * **Advanced Troubleshooting:** Investigate and resolve complex production integration issues, identifying performance bottlenecks or communication failures with external servers. **Requirements and Qualifications** **Non-Negotiable Requirements (What You Must Have)** ---------------------------------------------------- * **PHP Seniority:** Minimum of **5 years of proven, exclusive professional experience with PHP programming**, capable of writing clean, scalable, and easily maintainable code. * **Integration Expertise:** Extensive hands-on experience consuming and building APIs, handling complex payloads (JSON/XML), and complying with communication standards for government web services. * **SQL Server Mastery:** Advanced knowledge extending well beyond CRUD operations. Must be able to optimize slow queries, understand data modeling, and implement indexing strategies for tables containing millions of records. * **Business and Taxation Knowledge:** Proven experience with NFS-e billing, municipal taxation rules (ISS, withholdings), and clear understanding of how the **Tax Reform** affects the service provision landscape. * **Cloud Architecture:** Practical knowledge and prior experience working with cloud architectures and services, ensuring scalability and high availability. * **AI-Driven Development:** Hands-on experience using Artificial Intelligence to support programming (e.g., Gemini CLI, Claude, GitHub Copilot, etc.) to boost productivity, conduct code reviews, and perform AI-assisted pair programming. * **Best Practices and Version Control:** Absolute mastery of Git and GitHub for version control, CI/CD pipelines, and code review processes. **What Will Make You Stand Out (Nice-to-Haves)** ---------------------------------------------- * Prior experience working at ERP, commercial automation, or financial management software companies. * Knowledge of other programming languages and frameworks that may assist in maintaining legacy systems or proprietary platforms. * Experience with integration monitoring and observability (structured logs, alerts for communication failures). **Additional Information** Flexible Benefit/Meal Allowance: BRL 45.00 per business day.
