You will join a specialized technical team, directly contributing to the evolution, maintenance, and modernization of mission-critical systems processing large-scale financial transactions. If you have strong COBOL expertise and passion for high-availability systems, this role is for you. **Responsibilities** * Analyze, develop, and maintain legacy COBOL systems running on the Microfocus platform * Participate in gathering and detailing technical requirements with business areas in payment methods * Provide production environment support and incident resolution, ensuring system availability * Execute unit and integration tests, ensuring delivery quality * Document technical specifications, process flows, and system manuals * Identify performance optimization opportunities and propose improvements to existing applications * Support mainframe system migration and modernization initiatives to distributed environments, where applicable * Collaborate closely and agilely with infrastructure, QA, and business teams **Requirements** **Mandatory:** * Proven experience in COBOL development and maintenance (Mainframe or Microfocus) * Knowledge of Microfocus Enterprise Server or Visual COBOL * Experience with JCL, CICS, and/or VSAM * Experience in financial sector projects (payment methods, banks, processors, or fintechs) * Ability to analyze and resolve problems in critical production environments * Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documentation in English **Preferred:** * Knowledge of payment transactions (ISO 8583, card networks, authorizers) * Experience with version control tools (Git or equivalent in legacy environments) * Experience with agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) * Familiarity with legacy modernization processes (COBOL to Java/.NET) **What we offer** * 100% remote work model * Challenging projects in the payment methods ecosystem * Agile, collaborative environment with a continuous learning culture * Flexible working hours * Access to industry training and technical content
