Operate hydraulic presses and control panels, and assist in maintenance by transporting parts and tools; perform daily machine checklists to ensure proper operation and adherence to safety regulations; coordinate the departmental team and intervene in cases of bale jamming, electrical or mechanical issues with the bale press.
**Responsibilities and Duties**
* Operate hydraulic presses using the control panel to produce cotton bales;
* Operate fiber bale presses using the control panel and binding wires for fiber bales, ensuring optimal equipment performance and efficiency;
* Wrap bales by covering processed bales to protect them from adverse weather conditions;
* Assist in maintenance activities using hand tools to ensure proper functioning of machines and equipment in the area;
* Collect samples from bales, handling them manually, to assemble classification sample kits;
* Secure cotton bale binding wires using wires designated for this purpose to manufacture fiber bales;
* Operate bale breakers, handling electric and hydraulic control panels to feed the ginning production line;
* Control bale input into the breaker by activating conveyor belts to maintain uninterrupted process flow;
* Conduct job-related risk analyses, reviewing safety procedures to ensure operational and personnel safety;
* Perform cleaning and preservation procedures for the work area using appropriate tools to maintain a suitable working environment for daily tasks;
* Carry out daily checklists for machines and equipment used, verifying their condition and reporting any malfunctions to the immediate supervisor to ensure proper area functionality;
* Follow area safety recommendations and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to safeguard against occupational hazards and health threats.
**Requirements and Qualifications** **Desirable Requirements:**
* Basic knowledge of cotton ginning operations;
* Basic knowledge of maintenance (diagnosis and minor repairs);
* Familiarity with NR 35 – Work at Heights;
* Familiarity with NR 33 – Safety and Health in Confined Space Operations;
* Familiarity with NR 12 – Occupational Safety in Machinery and Equipment.
