Our client is a prominent **Construction and Real Estate Development Company**, seeking an Occupational Safety and Environmental Engineer to join its team.
**Job Objective:**
Lead safety and environmental strategy across civil construction projects, implementing corrective and preventive actions to achieve zero accidents and foster a robust safety culture. Supervise legal and regulatory compliance, coordinate audits and inspections, and develop long-term EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) policies ensuring sustainability and continuous improvement of EHS practices.
**Job Responsibilities:**
* Maintain compliance with EHS legal and regulatory requirements and internal policies specific to civil construction projects;
* Implement corrective actions to achieve zero accidents and promote safety culture on construction sites;
* Identify opportunities to reduce workplace safety risks, especially at construction sites;
* Implement and maintain EHS management systems to meet applicable regulations and global standards for the construction industry;
* Develop and implement EHS management policies, procedures, and programs tailored to public and private construction projects;
* Coordinate fire prevention and other emergency response training, ensuring team readiness on construction sites;
* Plan and conduct regular EHS audits and inspections at construction sites to improve performance and ensure compliance;
* Supervise subcontractor and supplier safety programs, ensuring safe practices across the entire construction supply chain;
* Proactively communicate safety concerns to the EHS Supervisor or Manager and investigate accidents and near-misses occurring on construction sites;
* Ensure safety services meet company requirements and contribute to continuous improvement on civil construction projects;
* Participate in developing sustainable, long-term EHS strategies for enhancing safety and environmental processes within the company.
**Requirements:**
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, with postgraduate specialization in Occupational Safety;
* Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Occupational Safety Engineer, preferably in civil construction;
* Active CREA registration.
