ABB is seeking a **Field Services Specialist** to join the **Process Industries** division, supporting customers in the Pulp & Paper, Mining, and Metals industries. Your mission will be to **perform technical field activities**, ensuring excellence in maintenance, configuration, commissioning, and support of ABB automation systems—always balancing cost, schedule, and quality with **safety as the absolute priority**. **Responsibilities (Consolidated into 6 points)** * Perform preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on ABB automation systems (AC450, AC800M, and 800xA), including panels, workstations, servers, and communication networks. * Configure and tune process control systems (DCS), supervisory HMI screens, and control strategies, ensuring operational performance of Pulp & Paper, Mining, and Metals plants. * Carry out commissioning, field testing, and startup of automation projects, driving continuous improvement in project execution. * Respond to technical requirements under maintenance contracts and projects, tracking hours worked, documenting interventions, and issuing technical reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and CCRPs as required. * Conduct internal and external technical meetings with customers and project teams, ensuring technical and operational alignment. * Deliver automation training to regional customers, promoting competence and best practices in using ABB systems. **Requirements** * Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Instrumentation, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Computer Science. * Knowledge of ABB DCS and PLC configuration, especially the AC450 (Advant Controller 450) family. * Experience in automation system projects or maintenance within industrial process environments. * Familiarity with processes and control strategies in Pulp & Paper, Mining, or Metals industries. * Proficiency in programming languages compliant with IEC 61131. * Knowledge of communication protocols: IEC 61850, FF, Profibus, DeviceNet, Profinet, Modbus RTU/TCP, Ethernet, and WirelessHART. * Residency in Sorocaba, SP, or surrounding areas, with availability for frequent travel. **Preferred Qualifications** * Experience with the ABB Advant Controller AC450 system. * Advanced experience in complex automation diagnostics. * Knowledge of functional safety or high-availability industrial networks. **What We Offer** * The opportunity to join a global technology leader, working on high-impact industrial projects. * A collaborative environment with access to training, global experts, and advanced technologies. * Career growth opportunities within a solid technical track, including involvement in key ABB projects. **About ABB’s Process Industries Division** ABB’s **Process Industries** division is a global leader in automation and digitalization for process-intensive industries.
