Strong expertise in traditional models and implementation of solutions using LLMs We are seeking a leader to guide and evolve Data Science and AI initiatives at Mercado Bitcoin, bridging technical depth, product vision, and business impact. This role combines influence-based leadership, strong application of traditional models, and implementation of Large Language Model (LLM)-based solutions. You will be a key contributor to building native AI products and advancing the company’s analytical culture, leading a team of 4 (Analysts and Tech Leads) and developing a high-impact strategic roadmap. **What we expect from you:** * Proven experience managing analytics/data teams in complex, business-oriented environments. * Proficiency in statistical and traditional Machine Learning models applied to real-world problems. * Experience implementing LLM-based solutions, balancing quality, cost, limitations, and impact. * Ability to translate business challenges into clear, measurable analytical solutions aligned with the company’s strategic priorities. * Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with Data Engineering, Product, and Business teams to ensure scalability and security. **Requirements and Qualifications:** * Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, or related fields (Master’s or postgraduate degree in Data Science or Analytics is preferred). * Solid proficiency in Python, SQL, and/or PySpark. * Experience with exploration and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker). * Familiarity with data pipelines, automation, and workload orchestration. * Proficiency in algorithms such as Logistic Regression, Decision Trees, *Ensemble Models*, Neural Networks, and Survival Analysis. * Hands-on experience deploying models into production using MLOps practices. **Differentiators (What sets you apart):** * Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Vertex AI. * Experience building or evolving native AI products. * Experience with AI Agents and Natural Language Processing.
