Job Summary: The Senior Operational Logistics Analyst plans, monitors, and optimizes logistics processes for food sourcing, handling, storage, and distribution, ensuring efficiency and compliance. Senior Operational Logistics Analyst – Position Objective To plan, monitor, and optimize the logistics processes of the Food Bank, contributing to efficiency in food sourcing, handling, storage, preservation, and distribution, in compliance with sanitary regulations, food and nutrition safety principles, and the organization’s operational guidelines. To serve as the technical reference for the logistics area, promoting continuous process improvement, loss reduction, and monitoring of operational KPIs. Main Responsibilities 1. Logistics Planning and Operations * Plan and oversee food receipt, sorting, storage, picking, and distribution operations. * Develop and monitor short-, medium-, and long-term operational plans. * Analyze demand, volumes, and operational capacity to support logistics planning. * Propose improvements to increase productivity and reduce waste. 2. Transportation and Distribution * Plan and monitor food collection and distribution routes. * Monitor the performance of owned or third-party fleets. * Track transportation KPIs, delivery deadlines, and logistics costs. * Verify compliance with appropriate transportation conditions for each food type. 3. Warehousing and Inventory Management * Oversee organization of dry, refrigerated, and frozen inventories. * Monitor identification, traceability, and control of received and distributed foods. * Monitor shelf life, quality, and storage conditions. * Support periodic inventory counts and stock audits. * Propose improvements in inventory management practices, adhering to the FIFO method. 4. Operational Quality * Monitor compliance with Good Handling Practices and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). * Track temperature records, food hygiene, and preservation. * Identify operational deviations and propose corrective and preventive actions. * Support sanitary inspections and internal and external audits. 5. KPIs and Continuous Improvement * Develop and monitor logistics performance indicators. * Prepare managerial reports to support decision-making. * Produce analyses on operational efficiency, losses, stock occupancy, and fleet utilization. * Identify bottlenecks and propose opportunities for improving logistics processes. 6. Technical Support to Operations * Provide technical guidance to teams on operational procedures within the area. * Identify training needs related to logistics processes. * Support implementation of operational improvements and best practices for safety and organization. * Monitor operating conditions of vehicles, equipment, and facilities, reporting maintenance requirements. Education * Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, Production Engineering, Food Engineering, or related fields. * Postgraduate specialization in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or Food Safety is desirable. Experience * Experience in logistics, warehousing, transportation, or operations—preferably in food-related sectors, distribution centers, or Food Banks. * Experience in inventory management, operational KPIs, and process improvement. Technical Knowledge * Warehouse and distribution management. * Logistics planning and route optimization. * Inventory and stock management. * Cold chain and perishable food control. * Good Handling Practices for Food. * Applicable sanitary legislation. * Intermediate or advanced Excel proficiency. * Power BI and logistics management systems (desirable).
